One of the side characters in the show is an amazing talent and portrays ptsd to a T. I love that this will bring awareness and maybe some understanding to the masses. Other than that the show is very good. I'm really loving it, after daredevil I didn't think netflix had it in them but low and behold punisher came out. Expand

Makes the Defenders seem like a kindergarten reunion. It's dark and violent and digs deep in the personalities of the (anti)hero and those around him. Well made and directed with good music. Last but not least, Jon Bernthal, gives an acting recital as the well-known vigilante.

The Punisher starts out slow, but once it gets going, it fires on all cylinders. It is the second best Marvel-Netflix series, behind only Daredevil. I highly recommend it for any action fan.

The critics have dropped the ball on this show in a major way. Many complain that it's long and talkative (failing to recognize the surprisingly in-depth character presentation and the surprisingly intelligent writing), some complain there's not enough action, which frankly, is not what Netflix's take on Punisher is about for the most part.

As a Punisher fan, this is the best representation of the comic hero (especially the MAX imprint) on screen to date by far, and the critics must be insane. Watch it. It's very, very good.

This is dark, gritty and brutal. They picked a great actor for Punisher. Gave him a flushed out story and has a decent amount of action. It's a shame the critics could not appreciate this.

As a war veteran, I'll make this short and sweet: The Punisher captures the various types of PTSD while remaining a very well-acted and written show. It may be too gritty for "critics" that probably don't know much about modern warfare past "The Hurt Locker" (which is a terrible film), but as a veteran and a fan of Marvel's Netflix series, I can say without blinking that this is the BESTAs a war veteran, I'll make this short and sweet: The Punisher captures the various types of PTSD while remaining a very well-acted and written show. The narrative doesn't spin out of control, but rather keeps the focus on Castle, with a great twist on a classic Punisher villain. Don't wait for other reviews to come in.

All around brilliant show. Honestly, It is in the same league with Breaking Bad, The Wire and Game of thrones. The writing, the acting, action sequences - everything is top notch. It might seem a bit stretched to some people, but I didn't feel bored for a second. It is beyond my comprehension why on Earth the critics tried to sink this masterpiece. Yet another proof you can't trust them at all.

It's isn't perfect, but it lacks very little. Addictive after the first episode, with many emotional scenes, good acting and well written characters. The best of the Marvel series thus far without a doubt, for once showing a character with more depth than the rest.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind...unless you use a silencer. Frank Castle returns in his own series thanks to Marvel's deep pockets. Bloody, dirty, and raw, this show gives comic vets and newcomers alike a glimpse into the mind of an elite soldier whose seemingly limitless arsenal runs perpendicular to his ability to connect with other people. This show is not for the faint of heart.

This show is military porn as well. Lots of guys moving around slowly with cool looking guns. There are Michael Bay styled recruitment tool segments every few episodes. The violence is not over the top for the sake of being over the top. It is an extension of the character. Frank Castles character is built by the violence he inflicts on others. Riveting stuff. Best show in a long time. I'm on the sixth episode now truly enjoying it somewhat reminds me of Homeland and Person of interest (which is a good thing). John is truly amazing as a Punisher.

This amazing Show took me by surprise and oh boy it was a big one.
This has to be one of my favorite tv shows of all time, up with Spartacus, GoT, Vikings, Breaking Bad. Really well done, amazing story, phenomenal characters, and interesting twists and turns.
It had everything for me: Action, Drama, Some Romance, Story-Driven characters, well-placed comedy and really good villains.

    A must see.
The show has portrayed the Punisher in remarkably dark colors.
There is plenty of violence, but kind of unavoidable violence if you are to be true to the plot.
This series captured me full attention by surprise since I did not expect so much punch in a time when everything is highly damaged by political correctness.

The show is very deep on character development and the story drives and enhances this, the depth and quality of the production is on a level no other marvel tv series have gained, at least in my opinion.

All too often it’s a plodding slog. Bernthal’s performance somehow finds energy in Frank’s pain. ... Lightfoot’s breadth of storytelling is gratifying--he wants to do more than give the cultural landscape another killing machine to idolize. It makes The Punisher less uncomfortable to watch than it could be amid so many outbreaks of extreme gun violence. But it isn’t an easy ride.

The show is well-written and Jon Bernthal ("The Walking Dead") is fantastic as Castle, the Afghanistan war veteran turned vigilante. ... But the story itself isn't dynamic enough to punch through all the cultural baggage this show is unfairly (or as some believe, justifiably) saddled with. It doesn't help that the burly character's superpower isn't a superpower at all. It's old-fashioned rage, coupled with special ops training.

Better too rich than too thin, to be sure, but “The Punisher” casts its net so wide that almost none of these stories get a fair shake. When they do, it’s usually the acting that closes the gap — Woll and Bernthal are so good together that it almost doesn’t matter that their scenes get snapped out quickly — but it’s hard to escape the feeling that, in giving us all that story, “The Punisher” doesn’t have much time for substance. It’s simultaneously too much and not enough.
