Extremely underrated coming of age drama/sci-fi/mystery thriller show, set in modern day New Orleans. Definitely better than all of the CW superheroe shows and most of the Marvel Netflix shows. Beautifully filmed, creative plots, fiting soundtrack, great main characters development and emotionally resonant interactions between them.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is an obscure but surprisingly well made show. I think it does well what it set to do. And there are also a couple of unique elements to this show that set it apart from other shows. I was sad to hear they had canceled it. It had a lot of potential and it was unique.

This show is pretty decent. Sure it is slow like Runaways but all it does is build towards characters that could very well shine in the show down the line.

I will say one thing good about the show, it works better than Ambien. The stereotypical cardboard cutouts and tired tropes will send you to dreamland quicker than a bottle of melatonin.

I can't believe this was their take on the Marvel characters, it's basically Dawson's Creek with superpowers and Roxie's. Nothing about that show makes any sense at all. As is all too common now the

As is all too common now the plot is simply a nonsensical collection of seems strung together with threads of illogic, scenes that obviously the writers wanted show, and so somehow through ridiculous mechanics they get the characters to find themselves in these positions.

If you want a show chock full of "edgy" liberal issues thrown into the plot regardless of if it fits with the story, then look no further. Otherwise, keep walking, because this show tries to make you believe that if you are white, no matter how bad your life is or what trauma you have been through, even if you were almost raped, somehow you are still better off (more privileged as they put it) than ANY african american, no matter what, and have no room to complain. I personally feel that we shouldn't judge people purely based on stereotypes and racism, and that goes for both sides of the fence. I don't really understand why it's all of the sudden perfectly acceptable to be racist against white people now. Racism is wrong, period, and this show promotes it.

The dialogue is a bit awkward at times and Aubrey Joseph's acting leaves a lot to be desired, but the show is still exciting and intriguing.

Really enjoying what I have seen in the first two episodes. It is a bit of a slow burn, but they use their time well in developing the characters and story, and I was engaged and interested the whole time. I did not feel like it was too politicized. I feel like Black Lightning does that too much, but in Cloak and Dagger, it is more just a fairly organic part of the plot. So far it isReally enjoying what I have seen in the first two episodes. Trying to balance the backlash a little. People are trying to make this pilot about politics, but as someone who read the comics, I am very excited about what I saw in the two episodes, the tone is set and the athmosphere feels very much like the one in Netflix MCU series.

    I didn't think I'd like it, but I did.
First of all, my age is way above the target audience.
But it was a relief to watch a marvel show that didn't feel padded and stretched out. And the number of flashbacks where acceptable and actually helpful. Sure, it's not a great show, but the lack of feeling annoyed by it is refreshing. That's how low I set the bar these days. The main

The main actors do their job well and I like the supporting cast.

It's engaging to see the two heroes getting to know their powers.
The villain (the company and its henchman) is pursuing a plan hidden 'in the darkness', so there's enough excitement about who the heroes will encounter next.

The finale makes you wanting more. Is O'Reilly a new villain? What are here powers? We'll see...

Anyone giving this a sub 4 and saying they "tried" to watch it but couldn't or found it boring, obviously isn't a true marvel fan or a fan of the source material, the character development so far has been beautiful, the soundtrack is set perfectly and it accentuates the feeling of being torn in two directions while trying to discover yourself and deal with new powers, masterful show. The 3rd best superhero TV show ever. I have loved Olivia Holt ever since her Disney Channel days. The acting and the chemistry between Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph is fantastic.

Good show, but there's an overuse of shop-worn musical montages and a horribly sentimental soundtrack. I skipped minutes and still got the picture (clearly not much happens during these sequences). Are the showrunners telling us a story, or trying to impress us with their playlists? If you try and have it both ways it doesn't usually work. There are exceptions, but this series isn't one of them.

Very subpar for Marvel. The acting and the writing were both just plain bad. Overall, the show just did not do anything to excite me, and I doubt I will be watching anymore of the show.

This is a surprising show in that it has a lot of background story, a lot of deep characterisation and yet the superpowers are still there but low key and confusing the heck out of the main characters. I could watch Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone/Cloak all day and night - he is a great actor. I am hooked and intrigued and willing to go for the ride to enjoy these characters and look into their world.

Boring show with the extremely predictable "evil corporations, evil white cops, and evil white rich kid". Yet another show "tackling social issues". About as played out and cliche as possible in today's political climate.

The only bright spot was Aubrey Joseph. He has the potential for a big career after this show dies.

I like the Runaways vibe it has, but it's a bit better, because it focuses on two characters. It drags a bit, but it's something i come to expect from origin stories.

But the most surprising things was the acting, i did not expect it to be good, Aubrey Joseph really surprised me, his scenes always felt genuine. I liked how they worked the cinematography around their powers, Tandy's

I am surprised this is hidden away on Freeform, this is better than pretty much all the Netflix marvel superhero series outside of Daredevil. The writers have created a really rich background and history for the characters. Cloak & Dagger is so much more engaging than most of the shows in this genre. Was not planning on watching it and I am really glad I did. Excited for Season 2!

Without a doubt the chemistry between the two leading actors is great. The story itself is also quite good albeit a little slow but issues dealing with everything from class, race, relationships and family seem to be quite well handled.

The only failing that turned me off is the camera work. Hence the low score. At least 95% of all the episodes are filmed using dynamic shots. The straw

The only failing that turned me off is the camera work. Hence the low score. At least 95% of all the episodes are filmed using dynamic shots. The straw that broke this camels back was in the ending of the last episode (ep. 07) when it felt like the camera was being held by a 5 year old, with 8 broken fingers and under very heavy medication. Scenes where nothing was happening except 2 people sitting quietly talking in a church also had the same camera effect which added absolutely nothing to the scene itself. The series is good but only if you can stand the horrific camerawork. Sadly i couldn't. It looked to be quite a good show too.

The soundtrack is absolutely disgusting, can't imagine anyone besides a commercial pop trash music lover putting up with this for a whole episode and as that wasn't bad enough everytime there's a scene focusing on each of the main characters story the cheesy music starts ... Congratulations on surpassing ShadowHunters in that regard, it truly made me cringe !

It's supposed to be a drama but instead it only conveys the feeling of a teen pop series without any substance and lacking seriously on the scripting department .

Dull and predictable show , couldn't get past the first episode !

There are good elements to be had in Cloak and Dagger, but this Marvel TV show can get quite boring and morose.

He does a great job of nailing emotion. Credit should also be given to Noelle Renee Bercy as Cloak's love interest and Emma Lahana a a good cop surrounded by corruption.

The setting of New Orleans pays off. The show is infused with the area's culture and geography. There is also a smattering of interesting sci-fi and supernatural elements throughout. The use of Cloak and Dagger's powers work and well and their abilities to see hopes and fears offer some interesting visuals.

Now the bad: The show moves way too slowly. The characters spend too much time planning to do stuff, and adding too many hints are made for things to come.

The show takes itself way too seriously. The gritty Netflix Marvel shows have more levity. The show also tackles way too many social issues in its debut season. It seems that every second there is someone waiting to punch the characters in the face metaphorically or physically. The majority of villains are paper thin stereotypes. J.D. Evermore does a decent job as a crooked cop, but even he is given a limited amount of quality scenes. It doesn't help any that some of the villains' plans to cover their tracks seem kind of sloppy.

I'm actually probably going to see the next season. I liked the characters and the interesting parts, and I'm hoping things are turned around next season. But, I will never re-watch this one.

Since Cloak & Dagger is about building expectations, it’s hard to know exactly how it’ll fare based on these early installments. But it’s evident that showrunner Joe Pokanski is trying to craft something pretty substantial and timely for his young audiences, and there’s reason to believe it’ll make a great impact for those who follow it. For now, though, it’s best to let it air its remaining episodes and hope it’s going to be among the better contributions from the MCU.

Like most other Marvel shows these connections are likely to be only surface-level for the foreseeable future, but it still speaks to the tricky balancing act all these shows have to achieve: exist in their own universe, yet walk their own path. Cloak and Dagger hasn’t escaped the problems that plague its brethren, but it has introduced some fresh components that make the latter feel like a real possibility.

The series never feels fully comfortable being either teen-oriented or more adult. It never really seems comfortable anywhere, really, as it skims through its scenes without investigating its surroundings, including the feelings or motivations of its characters.
