Nov 29, 2015I had hopes for a less biased show, but as usual, the writers are following Obama's long ago request that they complement his agenda. After last week's show, highlighting Relations with Cuba, I will no longer watch this show.
-
Oct 8, 2018I used to LOVE this show but after having Hilary Clinton on last night when she should truly be in prison, and then having Sara Ramirez on who is clearly a **** I just can't watch this anymore. So sad because I really did like the other actors. Arm Candy and all. :) I love Tia Leoni but just can't watch it anymore.

Nov 26, 2017Another political correct move adding a Lesbian to the cast. She is disgusting - her appearance and character! If she continues, I will find something else to watch.

Apr 5, 2018Used to enjoy "Madame Secretary" but no longer. Typical left-wing propaganda from CBS and the other fakenews networks. The most recent disgrace was the hiring of that transgender who took over the show subject last night. Just another example of CBS pushing their agenda. I won't watch anymore because I know they are just trying to advance another "cause"..........
-
Oct 15, 2018I was extremely disappointed in the 1st show of season 5. I deleted the recording and will not be watching ever again. When you can't enjoy a show without it becoming political, well....I won't be watching again. Tia Leoni was excellent and I have watched all episodes up to this one. Maybe you will decide political is not the way to gain an audience but entertainment might be better
-
Oct 20, 2014Had high hopes. Love the actors. Scripts are limping already. Removed from DVR. Too close to political spin. Makes me uncomfortable and a little pissed, especially as it appears ready to keep leaning harder.

Jan 18, 2015Tia Leoni gets a well deserved applause for the great acting she does on this show. I find myself wanting to watch this show over all of the others I have recorded on my DVR each week. I hope the network renews this show for a few seasons.

Oct 23, 2018Love the actors, hate the recent content. Globalism is dying, Hollywood. Both parties underestimate the resolve of US voters to protect our country from media globalist sponsors. We recognize propaganda when we see it. Sorry, Hillary. You lost. Politicians will be held accountable for policies that sell out our interests and the entire Western world via WTO, UN, etc .
-
Nov 23, 2018I agree that Tea Leoni is highly watchable, and that the writing is good, but the show has become so biased it is scary.. Yes, this show is treacle-laced propaganda. The story lines have become so offensive that I can no longer watch it. Demonizing and lying about the people who protect us is just wrong.

Sep 29, 2014I like tea leoni but I wonder about cbs creating a show about the Secretary of State just prior to an election I would like to think that entertainment shows are just that and not trying to subtly implement a political agenda.

Sep 30, 2014Another show that gives the platform to piss on any culture that isn't American. Just the pilot has pissed on other culture and made a mockery of other nations. With such weak and an intriguing plot backed up by poor character performance this show won't last for another season.
-
Sep 25, 2014Awesome cast. The show has potential but It could easily devolve into one of those flag waiving back slapping sagas of the good old USA vs the stupid violent world outside. Let's hope for something more nuanced.
-
Sep 22, 2014Well acted, especially by Leoni who brings a nice balance to the part. I felt the Chief of Staff as the "opposition" was a bit forced and rang a touch false and the depth of th ed storyline left room for improvement. But the basics were there, especially in the casting of her staff.

Sep 29, 2014I gave this show 2 tries and I do not understand the promotional hype CBS has given this show. The show as well as Tea Leoni are unconvincing. There is nothing compelling about the dialogs or plot. Leoni's quip "what does he mean by the ball is in your court' and its response were typical of the sophomoric and annoying banter. The show should not last the season.
-
Sep 30, 2014This show is a keeper! The cast is great -- love Tea Leoni! The dialogue is quick; does not drag along! Loved West Wing, so I hope CBS keeps this!

Dec 14, 2014The rating depends on whether you are laughing or crying. I derive the biggest laughs of the week from the transparent Liberal propaganda that includes Wonder Woman and Mr. Peeper. It is so bad that it is good, as long as you don't allow it to affect your vote. You can find support for every Liberal talking point, barring none.
-
Oct 9, 2014This show appears to be a desperate attempt to spin/rewrite the actual Libyan event for the uninformed population. I don't want electioneering disguised as a primetime show. will not watch again. EVER.
-
Sep 26, 2014My favorite new show of the season. Similar to Scandal but not over the top. I guess the best way to explain it is that it seems like a cross of The Good Wife and Scandal. I heard that the preview gave away too much information and spoiled it for some people. I hope everyone hangs in there for a bit and gives it a chance. I think it will prove to be a great show.
-
Sep 22, 2014CBS seems to have a winner here. First episode was jam packed for obvious reasons but the tone of the show and the cast will make it work quite well. Glad something decent has been created.

Sep 23, 2014This show was very cheesy in the typical CBS fashion. Over explanation in case you are 90 and have trouble following along with the plot line. I didn't hate it though. It was not upsetting to watch, if I am very bored I may watch another episode unless I have anything else to do.

Sep 23, 2014Tea Leoni is perfectly cast in a show that’s a cross between The Good Wife and Homeland. The stories in the pilot were predictable, but the focus was more on establishing the lead character and her world. And it did that to perfection. If the series can generate good stories every week, then it will be worth watching.

Sep 28, 2014I like the premise, but don't care for the family angle. It is not needed nor does it expand the story line. The kids are cute, but not part of the story as I see it. We need more of the office politics on this show. It's interesting to see the behind the scenes, but it could use more tension.
-
Sep 22, 2014Love it! The cast is perfect, the story is is great, and the Washington scenery makes me yearn to visit the city again. I hope that the time of the show doesn't hurt it. 8:00 may be too early and hard to DVR because of the inconsistent lengths of the preceding football games.

Dec 10, 2014This show is so realistic that I am using some of the data for my own research.
I am a graduate student on American Military University and this was fascinated. -
Nov 4, 2014This TV show is more of the same. Americans are the saviours of the world! When are they going to get in touch with reality? The world does not see them in that light. American foreign policy is strictly self serving ie if you have oil, we will be there!
I can no longer stomach this show! -

Oct 15, 2014Interesting look at political life. Show does a good job showing the challenges of a demanding job and integrating it with family...realistic family issues such as the disillusioned college drop out, snipes between siblings, the job interfering with/influencing family, etc.
-
Dec 5, 2014Tea Loeni is awful on this show! Half asleep and a voice that sounds like she needs an oxygen tank. Stories are so hokey, and acting bottom of the barrel. And the Chief of Staff looks like he's half dead. He must weigh 78 pounds.

May 13, 2016Excellent character acting by all central characters and intelligent good writing. Loosely based on some actual events along with a healthy serving of flag waving but it's a TV show and if you can get past that, it's well worth watching .
-
Feb 3, 2017I love this show - it's just good fun. Leoni and Daly have great chemistry, and the family interaction adds a nice balance to the political drama. It's also nice to see people trying to act ethically in the complicated world of politics. Yes, it's a little campy, but it's a lot of fun to watch!

Dec 19, 2014I was quite skeptical about this program when it was announced and it took a few episodes to get me onboard. Madam Secretary is light-weight entertainment where the heroine always seems to be able to pull a rabbit out of her hat. That said, each episode makes me smile and for that the show deserves an 8.

Jan 4, 2015This show has a great cast. As well as that it actually has some humor in it which you don't typically see on a show like this. Overall its a good show but the story of what goes on in the episode upsets me sometimes because of the potential and how good this show can actually good.
-
Oct 31, 2014Great cast - Tea Leoni is a fine actor, but the story lines are real poor - very, very lightweight. I find myself more interested in her home life and the family dynamic that the actual central stories.
To be honest, I'm on the verge of giving up watching - pity really. -
Apr 14, 2015Fantastic show that goes from strength to strength. Great characters I wish Leoni was the real Secretary of State! The world might be a safer place! :)
-
Oct 19, 2014good show but get your damn facts straight, the WAR of 1812 was not won by the U.S. Damn Americans want to take credit for everything. Just as was done in the American movie about the capture of the ENIGMA machine.

Oct 23, 2014I enjoy the show but after last episode wonder if it is not in fact a political inside job to help Hillary, as some have rumored. Makes one wonder, as with other programming, if it's not at least an indirect political contribution.

Dec 5, 2014Although not necessarily consistent with real-life world affairs, this series shows a strong female secretary of state offering new ideas that get accepted by the president. I can forgive the misses around real world stuff to see a strong woman kicking ass in the White House. It works for me.
-
Mar 18, 2015I love this show! It has the whole package. Awesome cast! It's something new and interesting and not another cop show! Tea' Leoni is very good. It certainly has people thinking about the issues of the world.
-
Apr 27, 2015The compelling plots, the amazing actors... The only thing I don't like about this show is the fact that it's very "America-centric". As a Canadian, I would have appreciated a different spin on us in the episode "Blame Canada".

-
Mar 31, 2019I love the characters and before this year I liked the fact that they were not overtly political. Now however they have become way too liberal. I would also not be a fan if they became way too conservative. I want to continue loving the characters and the show, you have a couple of weeks to get back to great story telling or you will go on with one less fan and at one time your super fan.
-
Mar 18, 2019This show has become way too liberal for me and there is too much time spent on the family life of the characters.

Mar 31, 2019I used to love this show but Season 5 has turned into a liberal talking points show. They totally exaggerate all the conditions that democrats push. I’m sure they are not interested in the deplorables in this country! So be it. I hope you have enough liberals to keep you going. I’m done

Apr 27, 2019Your science is all wrong! Climate Change is NOW Global Cooling. We are in a solar minimum. Troposphere is very rapidly cooling. Earth will COOL for the next 11, 40, or perhaps even 400 years like the middle ages. Please do your research, rather than listening to leftist radicals and loons!

A smart and enthralling D.C. drama that resurrects its predecessor's outlook, but still takes on a life of its own.
-
The premiere episode of Madam Secretary, for the time being, suggests that the show is very much the little sister [to The Good Wife].... But Madam Secretary, in which Téa Leoni plays the newly appointed secretary of state, deserves to hang around long enough to formulate and declare itself.
-
Solid but a bit staid.
