    With the Macy's Day parade, the point is to see the ingenious balloons and colorful marching bands. In this coverage, we're seeing lots of commentator face time, performances that are not associated with and are separate from the parade, and, finally, brief, even very brief glimpses of the balloons and marching bands. You cannot see the bands or hear their music. You cannot see the balloons very well either. Primarily because they are being filmed from a long distance at odd angles.

    In short, this coverage is very, very bad. The folks at NBC who dreamed this up just ruined the parade at our house!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Read other reviews of the parade. All of the attendees gave it great marks. Of course, these were all yahoos and it was an event for them. Stayed home and watched for a while on tv. Turned it off after watching all of the no-names performing inane songs lip-synced. Wishing it would get better, but never did. Wanted to see the marchers and was continually interrupted by commercials. Right after the announcer said here comes the NYPD, oops, commercial time, and then I had enough of the BS and turned it off. NBC and CBS and Macys should be ashamed! It's all about money and pop-culture. Nothing about the holiday. Welcome to the new world.… Expand
