This has been an uneven season and definitely the weakest of the three. Still, I would be lying if I said wasn't entertained.

Unfortunately, this season felt a little too much like Bones in it that relied too much on flimsy case-of-the-week episodes. Lucifer became a bit too much of a cartoon character. He just semed to be doing a new goofy thing every episode. There is a long subplot

Unfortunately, this season felt a little too much like Bones in it that relied too much on flimsy case-of-the-week episodes. Lucifer became a bit too much of a cartoon character. He just semed to be doing a new goofy thing every episode. There is a long subplot involving involving Amendial, Lindsey, and Maze that is super forced and didn't deserve the amount of time spent on it. Also, the new antagonist The Sinnerman and the new captain Pearce are hard to get a feel for. The writers handled them inconsistently.

On the plus side, most of the episodes still had fun bits. I did like the storyline throughout this season about Charlotte, a lawyer who's been to Hell, trying to redeem herself and the writers and actress Tricia Helfer did a great job with her. Also, there are some very good episodes. The last two episodes were a strong way to end the season and better than the second season finale. Plus, "Off the Record" is the best and most original episode in the entire show.

This show has made me do something I never thought I would, enjoy a police procedural. I greatly enjoy this show and cannot recommend it enough. The concept is absurd, the devil partnered up with law enforcement to capture criminals. All this being said it's brilliant.

With that evil grin Tom Ellis makes one believe that he is actually the devil. I am not a fan of these cop shows featuring the male/female team solving crimes each week, but "Lucifer" is different in that it has become apparent he and the detective will never "hook up." This is one show where people actually are rooting for the bad guy.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Lucifer just keeps getting better and better with each season, still one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Tom Ellis and Lauren German's performances are just phenomenal, he continues to be the shining part of Lucifer with his very complex, funny, charming, and emotionally powerful performance and she gave her best performance of the whole series so far this season with a very complex and emotionally powerful performance. The supporting performances were stupendous especially from Tricia Helfer, Aimee Garcia, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachel Harris, Tom Welling, Charlyne Yi, Chris L. McKenna, Kevin Alejandro, and Skye Townsend. The chemistry between the cast was wonderful. The writing was remarkable, the best writing so far was this season and the emotion in this season was at an all time high especially in "Quintessential Deckerstar" it was heartbreaking when Charlotte was murdered it totally cried. The character development was outstanding this season especially with Chloe, Lucifer, Charlotte, Dan, Cain/Marcus, and Maze. The makeup and hairstyling was superb especially on Lesley-Ann Brandt, Tricia Helfer, Rachel Harris, Lauren German, Tom Ellis, Skye Townsend, Charlyne Yi, and Tom Welling. The costumes were excellent especially on Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tom Ellis, Tricia Helfer, Lauren German, Rachel Harris, Skye Townsend, and Charlyne Yi. The visual effects were spectacular especially Amenadiel's wings, Azrael's wings, and Lucifer's wings. The music choices were great. Another A+ season of Lucifer. Expand

This season had a really big struggle with immersion and keeping the audience immersed with the story and how the plot kept unveiling. Despite this the characters where still fresh fun and entertaining, especially with Lucifer's charisma and undeniable talent for this character. Despite this the characters where still fresh fun and entertaining, especially with Lucifer's charisma and undeniable talent for this character. And despite the awful pacing issue and all the awkward moment Lucifer messed up he is developing in this season more than in the past two season combined. The writing was still on point with all the acting and directing executions. The visuals where 'all right' most of the time as well. So the only big thing other than the pacing issue and the chronological problems some episodes created the other big issue was the conclusion of the season and the ending of it. It ruined the whole build up of momentum through out the season.
So overall this was a good season for a good TV series, but this could have so much more better if not for these really heavy issues upon production.

I am so glad I continued to watch this show, every episode has its best and unique moments, suspension is what makes it so, so great. You wait and then it arrives a scene that throws you to the floor either in laughter, adrenalin or simply screaming.

I will continue to watch this show repetitively until I die.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Literally one episode well parts of others too but mostly the culmination of episodes 18-20 is an entire subversion of an important character dynamic and it's literally thrown all out the window for a few jokes and to solidify the viewers knowledge into literally the worst version one could assume thus destroying many many better ones. Not only does this betrayal both in writing and story diminish all the glorious buildup from early in the season it entirely lessens just about every possible ending greatly while ruining some very compelling and relatable ones that i think many fans were imagining and waiting for. Not only that but it should alter our main significantly and actually open the door for one possible twist that would have been actually historic and saved the poor choice, actually making it seem correct but alas the show literally steers as far away from that as fast as possible and infact i think the writing just accidentally hints at this and there was a realization and thus they nixed even the possibility of it happening off screen.. After 2 amazing season this one ends by utterly shattering the image of our protagonist while simultaneously tarnishing the modern lore from which the entire show takes inspiration. Lucifer would be highly impressed with how little regard for others this ending shows but thoroughly disappointed all considered Expand
