I just wish the episodes were longer because sometimes some story lines felt a little rush. Totally recommend it. Expand

The chemistry between Victor and the rest of the characters is so honest and real, the commitment to the acting is notable, and believe me i'm not the only one who's happy with the final result.

So many people will be moved with this new Tv Show, it feels fresh, actual, but the most important thing "honest"

Extremamente lendária e perspicaz, conseguiu unir temáticas importantes de uma forma genuína e gostosa de assistir, cada episódio é uma mistura de fofura com toques cítricos de críticas. Ótima.

Boring, predictable, over-the-top and unsatisfying. It was so difficult to complete the first season, I just wanted it to end already. The show didn't even try to capture any thing. Way worse than the expectations.

This show screams ‘adult interpretation of teens’ The line delivery is so artificial and the teen lingo is so forced. It feels so fake! This is coming from a gay young adult.

Although I loved "Love, Simon", I was craving for something more, preferably a tv series where there would be more room for character development/growth - so: seeing the 'finding out (and accepting) who you truly are/coming-out'struggle unfold in believable and tiny, well-paced steps - and one that would be better in conveying how difficult this can be (depending on the personal circumstances of the individual in question and the society wherein he/she lives). Getting this right from a writer standpoint is extremely hard, especially since there are a lot of things to consider in making this kind of series. Is it perfect? No. Is is better than "Love, Simon"? Yes, definitely. They managed to strike the right balance: not too slow & not too fast, not too unbelievable, not too over-the-top or stereotypical, and definitely not one-dimensional. The story has many layers, and a lot of effort is put in to develop not only the titular character, but also all side characters. This is one of the aspects I especially liked about this show: all characters felt sufficiently 'real' (although I was somewhat worried beforehand, the writers really managed to avoid the common pitfall of leaving side-characters either flat/card-board characters or falling for cheap stereotypes), and all got their own respective attention/story. All in all, the world of "Love, Simon" felt a lot more real and believable here, a world I cannot get enough of if the writing and acting quality remains this high.

+ Great acting performances of all characters, although I have to mention Michael Cimino separately here. The casting of the lead character (Victor Salazar) is perfect since this actor is an absolute joy to watch: he is able to credibly display the whole range of emotions, and there is always a cheeky smile for us as audience to enjoy. If he is in frame, the sun starts the shine, and this really contributes to getting invested in the character;
+ Multidimensional show, not 'just' a gay coming-out series but also contains well-written subplots involving Victor's parents Armando and Isabel, his sister Pilar, his friends Felix, Mia, and Lake, his basketball teammate Andrew, and his co-worker Benji;
+ Better displays the struggle coming out can be, here from the angle of religion and machismo in the Latino-American world (although this is not fully explored yet in this season, hopefully more in the next);
+ Cuteness overload, the writers succeeded in making a feel-good show, despite the difficulties all characters (esp. the titular character) are going through;
+ Good music and score;
- A bit on the safe, prudish side. Understandable, but to really make a mark this series needs a little more.

a série consegue usar bem o cenário que love, simon deixou. os personagens estão começando a ser desenvolvidos de uma forma ótima e vale muito a pena aguardar por mais temporadas e quem sabe mais história nesse mundo compartilhado.

Charming and heartwarming, with a great ensemble and just the right amount of cheese, Love Victor succeeds at presenting a nuanced, gay, coming-of-age story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Love, Victor is my favorite new show of 2020, my 2nd favorite drama TV show of all time, and my 3rd favorite TV show of all time. This show is just so beautiful, funny, and touching and it makes me so happy to see the continuous increase of gay love stories and LGBTQ+ representation in the media. The chemistry between the cast just feels so natural and authentic. The performances from Michael Cimino (he gives such an emotionally powerful and believable performance) and Rachel Hilson were phenomenal, they both gave deep, powerful, and touching performances. Anthony Turpel, Isabella Ferreira, Bebe Wood, Ana Ortiz, Mason Gooding, Nick Robinson, Beth Littleford, and Ali Wong gave pretty excellent performances as well. The writing was exceptional, I totally cried when Victor came out to Felix. The character development with Victor was remarkable. The soundtrack and music featured in the show were outstanding. The makeup and hairstyling was stupendous especially on Rachel Hilson, Bebe Wood, Isabella Ferreira, Abigail Killmeier, Anthony Turpel, Ana Ortiz, and George Sear. The costumes were great especially on Bebe Wood, Isabella Ferreira, Michael Cimino, Rachel Hilson, and Ana Ortiz. This first season was an A+ and cannot wait for season two. Expand

Parents are always so mean and demeaning to their kids (gay or not) especially compared to our NYC gay community, which is apparently so fun, friendly, supportive, sexless and loving. Don’t know what community the scriptwriters are talking about but neither me nor my friends are sharing any kind of similar experience. So yeah in this show, teens know it all, they have it all figured out, not because they’ve been well raised by their families, but just because being from a minority or being young make you automatically smart… That sentence from Felix says it all “you are already the best version of yourself”, so guys let’s not try to be better or to learn anything from anyone in life. These teens are actually incredibly conservative: they don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, rarely have sex… Is this show entirely bad? No. But compared to let’s say “Queer as Folk” (sorry people pop culture, again), it’s so far from reality, there isn't even an entry point to explain how far from reality it is. Expand

A very fun, fresh show. The characters are relatable and charming, without losing depth. Each character isn't just some plank of wood with no personality, they each have their own complexity, which, sadly, is to cheer for. 10/10.
