Paul Rudd may be the most genuinely likeable dude on the planet. Even when he is playing a deadbeat kinda douche who doesn't appreciate his wonderful wife (the amazing Aisling Bea, who pretty much steals the show), we are still rooting for him.

The sci-fi dramedy has had some fantastic entries this year (Undone and Russian Doll to name but two) and while LWY doesn't quite stack up against those two, its still hugely enjoyable and very bingeable. 8 half hour eps means its quick and easy to digest, but its brevity also means it feels somewhat rushed. An extra 2 eps I think would have benefited the show and given it time to build to a satisfying conclusion, which unfortunately it doesn't quite deliver.

Nonetheless, 2 great lead performances (technically 3?) and a thought provoking story which can be digested easily in a weekend means Living With Yourself is an easy recommendation.

Paul Rudd is perhaps the most endearing actor working today. He's endlessly charming and witty. He really makes this season work. While the plotting isn't exceptional, the central moral dilemma presented by the show is an interesting one to think about and Paul Rudd's performances are incredible.

To me personally, it felt that the screenwriters came up with the idea of two identical human beings sharing one life, and then got afraid of it in the process. The story has a great beginning, and you expect a lot of weird and exciting events to unfold, but they never do. And the ending, well, a true disaster. Paul Rudd is great, though.

Fun premise that falls flat after the first couple episodes. Paul Rudd is fine, his portrayals of his selves is grounded with a simple binary. Feels like a washed out version of a Charlie Kaufman script that needed massive rewrites. I just wish it leaned into the weird of the concept more.

I really enjoyed this, but the premise is a bit off; who doesn't want two Paul Rudds? Dare I say that Paul Rudd is entering into Hanks/Murray territory with his career. All kidding aside, I know this has been done before, but not as well. I liked how they told the story through flashbacks and from different perspectives. I also liked that it did have a darkness to it I wasn't expecting.I really enjoyed this, but the premise is a bit off; who doesn't want two Paul Rudds? Anna Meredith is a genius. The music really stood out to me and added tension and or humor. Expand

I really hate when people write a poor review because of one little quibble; however, in this case, the program was totally binge worthy and fun, and the last episode was a complete and total copout. They had all the ingredients for a clever twist (the scar, the scar) and instead ended things in a hug out. Are you serious? What an absolute waste of time :(

Well acted, well put together but generally unpleasant to watch.

Looking beyond the techinical aspects and concentrating on the characters and how convincingly they were written and played they were spot. However the concept as presented doesn't really feel like it has offered much than the literal story itself, I'm sure the more complimentary can find allegory and meaning here and there

I really wanted to enjoy it more than I did which has left me a bit sad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Living with Yourself is one of my top 10 favorite new shows of 2019, one of my top 10 favorite comedy shows of all time, and one of my favorite shows of all time. Paul Rudd's performance as two people who are the same person but have totally different personalities and are totally different in almost every way was phenomenal. Aisling Bea, Alia Shawkat, Desmin Borges, Rob Yang, Zoe Chao, and James Seol gave exceptional supporting performances. The writing was remarkable, it was extremely funny and very dramatic. The show was funny, happy, and sad. The music was excellent. This was an A+ first season. Expand

As brilliant in the first few episodes as it was dumb in the last few. Which is worse indeed than if the whole thing had been a failure, because the beginning just ends up being a tease.

This series is enjoyable enough, but without Rudd in the lead it would be quite the dud.

I liked the theme of the series although we have already seen it and it is not very original but it was good, Paul's performance is very good.

Takes a few episodes to warm up, and improves by the end of the series. But it never recovers enough to live up to the promise of its premise. Like Miles, Rudd bites off more than even he can chew.

Yes, the result is shallowing, but there is scope, too, for us to fill in the blanks ourselves. But that is what Living with Yourself ultimately is – a comedy that asks the big questions but doesn’t look too far for the answers.

Events are shown, and re-shown, from different perspectives and often reach far enough back to cause some confusion if you’re not bingewatching several episodes or the whole thing at once. The technology makes Rudd’s appearances with himself seamless – no dodgy shooting over a stand-in’s shoulder here – and it chunters along nicely, musing philosophically as it goes and delivering enough laughs at least to make sense of the casting. I can live with it.
