Long time TV viewer, first time reviewer. I'm picky, very picky about the television I watch. I've been so disappointed in network television -- especially the **** dramas (don't get me started). This comedy, however, tickled my funny bone. It's well written, well acted and unique. I, for one, will keep watching.

I honestly can't figure out why so many users don't like this one.

Honestly one of the best in a long time. Not sure why everyone doesn't love it. The acting and writing is great. The 4 short story concept is great too. We are left wishing the show wasn't over .. The half hour goes so fast. My husband and I laugh to tears and not many shows do that. Hopefully it stays around a long time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Zoe Lister-Jones is quite possibly the funniest comedic actress on television. Unfortunately she has bounced around from one crappy sitcom to another. Hopefully this one lands. The scene where she berates Colin Hanks for getting arrested during a diaper run is one of the funniest scenes I've seen on television in a long time. Expand

I literally laughed out loud which I cannot say about many other shows. This show is creative, funny, well written and a breath of fresh air for comedies. I will keep watching this for sure.

The show has a well built cast. The writing provides a soft laughter with the odd punch of surprise. Some better character building is needed to provide the audience with a more clear cut connection.

This is another show I find enjoyable, I like the cast I hope it gets a chance to get a 2nd season. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, better then some of the older shows still on like 2 broke girls.

Well written and hilarious! Both acting and writing deserves a 10, glad it's finally back. Definitely deserves a much higher score, everyone should watch, one of the better sitcoms out there.

I think that this show is one of the funniest shows I've seen in a while! I absolutely love the cast. There are some ridiculously funny one liners in this show. I will definitely watch week after week!!!

Funniest show I have seen in a while. Not sure why critics are giving it such low scores. The users trashing it did not even finish watching it - Sad. It is better then 90% of all other show on TV.

I find this new show refreshing and hilarious. The cast is an awesome mix of great actors. It is a great show for all ages. The throw back to the 80's is also a fun mix. Whether you just had a baby, or have grand kids this show is for you.

This show is hilarious. I find it refreshing that they find humor in chaotic and everyday situations. I definitely felt the way Jen did when I had my daughter.I too wondered what they were thinking when they let me out of the hospital with a brand new baby.Terrific show.My opinion of coarse.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with this new show. Just watched the pilot and it was excruciating. I want that 30 minute piece of my life back.

I didn't finish watching the first episode. But it did seem very generic. The humor was stale even if the story-telling was not per se. Also, there seems to be this idea that saying words dealing with genitalia is somehow funny, like those words are still taboo or something.

Awful. The ugly step brother of Modern Family. Terrible characters, bizarre storylines. Just dreadful.

The pilot felt much longer than it actually was. This won't be on my watch list thats for sure.

This is the most stupidest show ever. What's with all the sexual stuff? This is not a comedy for prime time. I'll never watch this show. Just like Two and Half Men (thank goodness that one is over with), this show sucks big time. I give it a big FAT ZERO. Who thought this up? They should be fired and never allowed to work again in TV. Send them to the porn channel if you must. And I'm noThis is the most stupidest show ever. What's with all the sexual stuff? This is not a comedy for prime time. I'll never watch this show. I just sat through the pilot for this show. I was underwhelmed. It wasn't a sitcom based upon humor, it was a sitcom based upon awkward situations. It wasn't funny, it was cringe-worthy.

For now, I'm going to leave it on the DVR to record each week, I plan to watch a couple more episodes to see if the humor picks up, Hopefully it will pick up a bit as the actors get more

Situation comedies on television are usually painful to watch. There are some exceptions, "Mom" being for me one notable exception. I feel quite comfortable in adding "Life in Pieces" to this very short list. Though there is often an element of silliness in the show, I find that the mini-plots very nicely satirize real life, either experienced or thought about. My major complaint with the show is its 30 minute length. I think I would be happier with 60 minutes, but there is something definitely to be said for the very short time spans of the individual "pieces". Set the scene, a pretty quick punch, and get out while you're still funny. Expand

I wasn't wild about the concept for this show, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pilot. Was it great? Not hardly. But it was passable, which is a step up for recent new comedies. It was four short stories, and the middle two were actually pretty amusing. But the first and last were hard to watch. That makes the show a toss up at this point.

Absolutely one of the worst shows on TV. This makes The dreaded Goldburgs look good which is difficult to do. The dialogue is just God awful with predicable reactions. Corny and lame... This show is a definite pass... Its been compared to Modern Family, but the writing and acting is so far inferior its just not a fair comparison. I rated it high so someone could read the truth...

I LOVE this show, can't wait to see each episode. I find it moves along nicely with the different storylines.. just love James Brolin, Dianne Wiest and the entire cast. Funny funny! A must see.

Good God this show is laugh out loud funny. Hope more people give the show a shot so that we can get more seasons of this. But don't watch this show thinking this is just a modern family clone. Give it a shot and you will most certainly fall in love with it.

I found this show to be a little boring and not very funny. It felt way longer than 30 minutes. Don't think I'll continue watching this one. I don't see how so many people find it hilarious. To each their own!

What a Hoot! I love this laugh out loud comedy. It has been awhile since we have had a smart comedy and the four short stories mesh well. I am liking the Big Bang - Life in Pieces combo.

Seinfeld-sharp. Some weeks are better than others, but still -- a great new Freshman show with some good writing. Considering some of the other stuff that is still on (SMH about 2 Broke Girls??? How has that lasted?) this is a winner in my mind.

Probably the funniest show I have seen on TV in a long time. James Brolin is hilarious. The pace is quick and it is brilliantly written. I have saved all of the shows to watch over and over.

Watched for the first time last night. Found it sharp, funny, and endearing. I was more than just a little annoyed that I'd allowed the initial reviews (a year ago) to keep me from watching this sooner!

Awesome!! - Like a "Modern Family" except with (4) five minute skits featuring different family members. PLUS NO LAUGH TRACK OR STUDIO LAUGH! - which ruins most ALL sitcoms (Exceptions: Seinfeld) A++

ps: Each shows TITLE - contains 4 words - with each word referring to one of the (4) skits.

Descriptions cannot convey the crispness of the writing, and the surprising chemistry that’s already in place among a group of actors with widely differing styles of comedy. Credit writer Justin Adler and director Jason Winer for coming up with an atmosphere and look for Life In Pieces that unifies, rather than fractures, the show.

The cast is stacked, the timing is jaunty, the jokes are good, especially for a pilot.... And yet the show is still four shows jammed into one, with each segment almost entirely self-contained. The series feels neurotically aware of all the other things you could be doing instead of watching it.

It's a finish [several seemingly disjointed stories are brought together by the end of the episode] more sitcommy than the show seems to call for, but one not weak enough to upset the balance of funny and heartfelt that made me want to see a bit more, even if it was just for the pleasure of this company.
