Not a crime drama in any conventional sense this is a continuation of JETT and that show's style palette of brash colors influenced by film noir and classic women's pictures of the 1940's. Gutierrez knows his way around complicated femmeNot a crime drama in any conventional sense this is a continuation of JETT and that show's style palette of brash colors influenced by film noir and classic women's pictures of the 1940's. Gutierrez knows his way around complicated femme fatales and plays with time, using the jewelry heist gone wrong (itself a noir staple) to get down to the real business he's after: the days and months leading up to the present and the psychological and philosophical quests of the various female characters, especially Batty (Gaite Jansen from Peaky Blinders, astounding) and the director's perpetual muse Gugino (perhaps better than ever).

This is an extremely confident 4 hour movie split into bite sized chunks for the binge generation.
