If you thank that's what's going to sell your programs, forget it - I will no longer be following a show that I've watched for years - and I'll bet I'm not the Lone Ranger on that either! Praying for all you "big shots" that your eyes will be opened and you will repent of this sin! Expand

For those of you STILL tuning in. This series ran its course 2-3 years ago. Benson has become so self-righteous, all-righteous, ever-righteous, it's near unnerving to watch sometimes. ------------------

Even conclusions of episodes that strive for a sentimentally touching ending which could use a closeup of a victim to highlight the justice being served... they'll instead zero in on Olivia's face – her knowing expression signifying that she (and the unit) did the “right thing”. -------------

Story lines will even bend - putting a detective in a position that ignores (or oversteps) normal legal or investigative procedures (usually with Benson's insistence) to – of course – ensure the “righteous path” is followed. -----------------

Our heroes are always the wisest, most conscientious entity within the world of special victims crimes. They will undoubtedly make the world right. They'll sacrifice whatever portion of their soul, or the soul of the department, is necessary to ensure the world is a better place – once they're done making it so. --------------------

Sheeze. The unit's characters' flaws rarely are revealed and, if so, only with those flaws being heroically addressed with sufficient soulful correction. We should all genuflect and give thanks to SVU for showing us “the way”.

I found it redundant themes and predictable. No freshness to it. And the characters lacked credibility

Jamie Gray Hyder is the prefect addition to the main cast. She bi-racial, smart, intelligent, feisty, and believable. She makes a good team with the Iceman.

The story lines are contrived and unbelievable, and, to make matters worse, the acting is really poor. In the UK, the programmes are often broadcast late at night, and, for some strange reason, my wife tends to watch them then. I sat through a few episodes, to see if I could find any justification for my wife's interest in them - I could find none. I now see them as a cure for insomnia, as long as the volume is turned down, so that the frequent bouts of shouting, tyre screeching etc. do not wake me. Complete rubbish - a vote of zero is generous. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I saw the recent episode Return of the Prodigal Son. The show is ridiculous and at the same time takes itself seriously. A police detective character would never be openly involved in a case where his wife was murdered let alone get anywhere near interviewing suspects. At the same time the show editorializes against the our former President. A police character(who is portrayed as the good guy) claims that right wing protesters have been enabled--parroting the unsupported political claims. Basically the show has become just another nonsensical cop show. But in addition, it has the problem of extreme political comments by the protagonists cops. At least when Dirty Harry made inappropriate comments there was an inkling that we knew this guy was off. Here, extreme politics is cited by the heroes with favor. If we are going to have mindlessness on tv do we have to have mindless political comments (that we are supposed to take seriously) to boot? It would be one thing if this was just more mindless tv--it is mindless tv that thinks it has something to say but merely parrots mindless political claims. Its like nails being rubbed on a blackboard. It is like Gilligan on Gilligan's Island parroting the political rants like we see from today's late night hosts like Kimmel. Expand

Stop with the racial episodes! This show is an inspiration to women who have experienced sexual assault. Please don’t turn it to race.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show was exceptionally written, the way the character's change is a good idea because we don't want the same characters for the entire show. The way SVU has developed and created more suspenseful and mystical episode plots including "Return of the Prodigal Son", "Hunt, Trap, Rape and Release" and "Post-Graduate Psychopath". Expand

Really great show!
can we all agree that Cardigan by Taylor Swift is the most accurately written and relatable song about being cheated on? it's like a bunch of stories compiled together to make a new one. from 'a friend to all is a friend to none', it's like a reminder that your partner's friend isn't your friend. sometimes they are the ones who tolerate the betrayal. or sometimes it's actually from a friend of yours where the betrayal starts. and 'chase two girls, lose the one', a consequence of cheating that you're not just losing one of them, but actually the one. to 'playing hide-and-seek and giving me your weekends', the feeling of longing for something because he was always physically unavailable, and meeting someone behind the mall. and 'you drew stars around my scars, but now i'm bleeding," they somehow assured you, gave light to your dark past. however, they still did the things you told them that once hurt you. until, "i knew you, tried to change the ending: peter losing wendy" when they were trying to turn the table and change the narration of the story. when they were trying to make that it was wendy who was losing peter. when they were trying to look innocent through lies. and of course, "i knew you, leaving like a father, running like water" when they ran from their responsibility and didn't even have the face to hold themselves accountable for what they had done. and people would think that it's fine; it was just puppy love. we are all deprived of expressing ourselves, from sensual politics to feeling like a cardigan under someone's bed, because when you are young, they always assume that you know nothing.
