Complex and interesting characters. This show may take place within the setting of MMA fighting, but its really about the family dynamics. All the actors (yes, even Nick Jonas) have done a fantastic job. Jonathan Tucker is crazy, but also sweet in the way he cares for his mom. The writing has memorable lines and comedic moments. Give the show a two episode try. I think you'll find itComplex and interesting characters. This show may take place within the setting of MMA fighting, but its really about the family dynamics. Emotionally engaging characters, intelligent and involving plot, good acting, plenty of action. What more can you ask for? I was completely blown away by the ending of the final episode and my thoughts kept returning to it the next day. Probably the best thing I've seen since Breaking Bad.

i wanted to like it but after 5 episodes, i still don't know what the show is about and i wont be watching more. It's moving really slow, the characters are very stereotipical, frustratingly at times and it's all very predictable stuff. Feels like ive seen it before 10 times. I think they even use the same gym as in Ray Donovan? Simple yet complex show. It shows all the characters dealing with their own problems and trying to overcome them. It's not really a MMA show and it's really enjoyable to see how the writer found a way to explain all these situations with the help of this peculiar sport. I highly recommend this show.

KIngdom is a raw emotionally complex show with characters that can at the same time be unlikeable and relatable. The character of Alvey depicts some of the worst aspects of humanity, but I cannot bring myself to hate him. The story arc is compelling and complex and so the watcher is immersed in the world of MMA sports. This is a heartbreakingly real depiction of what combat sports are like, and this especially rings true in the episode Cut Day. This show is constantly evolving into a better more cohesive self and I am disheartened by its cancellation in season 3. Expand

It's not a great show, but it's a solid one that, like the various fighters in Alvey's stable, has the potential to knock you out if it can put everything together.

It's almost as if, like its testosterone-fueled fighters, the show loses its mind every once in a while and just has to punch something, and punch it and punch it and punch it. Between these attacks, however, it relaxes into well-written scenes in which the wounded characters express ideas and feelings other than rage.

Featuring a strong cast, a unique setting, and an alternately energetic and reflective tone, the series has a lot going for it and could easily grow into a surprise hit for DirecTV.
