    But...

Bringing back Ms Remini as a foil to Mr James' lead character in this show was not an optimum decision. The chemistry between the two is gone.

Watch a few KoQ episodes, and then watch one or two of Kevin Can Wait episodes. In comparison, Kevin Can Wait seems to be forced, with the actors appearing just to be reading their lines.

KCW is off the ToDo list of my DVR. I tried to watch it, but it just was not worth the time I had to spend.

Kevin can wait has never been a cerebral comedy, more one of those guilty pleasures for when you just need a few simple laughs without having to think too much. But after a guest appearance from (a now scarily botoxed) Leah Remini in Season 1, It seems the $$$ sign flashing in front of the CBS execs eyes seems to have blinded them. CBS figured they could recapture the chemistry & probably more importantly the success of the "King of Queens" reuniting Kevin James and remini. The unfortunate victim of this was Erinn Hayes who played kevin`s long suffering wife Donna. hayes was uncerimoniously booted out the back door to allow CBS to accomodate Remini`s full time arrival for season 2 and her no doubt substantial paycheck. The problem is you quickly realise Erinn Hayes was what made this comedy tick.. she had great comic timing and her great chemisry onscreen with kevin james made them such a likeable couple. Also the way they killed her off onscreen angered fans of the show almost as much as her departure. A flippant "your moms been dead a year already" shoehorned into the dialogue was a shoddy way to explain her abscence and was delivered by Kevin with as much emotion as a dishcloth. The bottom line is without Hayes this show just doesnt work anymore and i certainly wont be watching again. I was a huge "King of Queens" fan but that was 10 years ago... sure Kevin James hasnt changed he`s still playing the same lovable yet hopeless family man but remini is actually uncomfortable to watch now either through a facelift gone wrong or a seriously scary amount of botox, but either way the pairing doesnt work as it did back in KOQ`s heyday. If im honest im not sure what CBS execs were looking for "Kevin can Wait" ranked higher in its first season than KOQ did in all but 3 of its peak seasons, it doesnt pull as many ratings but nothing pulls the ratings shows did 10-15 years ago when KOQ was running. CBS in killing off Erinn Hayes I think you just killed your show!! Expand

I just finished watching the second episode of season 2 and WOW... The show finally hit the nail on the head in regards to finding its own identity. This is the dynamic we were all waiting for! The chemistry between them is undeniable and pure magic. Their characters working together in a security firm, is the perfect setting for a situation comedy. So happy with the direction they are going... If you dismissed this sitcom after seeing a few episodes of season 1, I would strongly recommend that you give it another go... You definitely won't regret it! We really need more family oriented sitcoms to make us laugh a bit more in our daily lives... Thanks 'Kevin Can Wait'! Expand

Erinn Hayes should consider herself lucky that she was dropped from the show after the first season. This program has never been funny nor do I consider Kevin James to be a comedian. The laugh track button must be worn out by now from overuse.

Kevin doesn’t need to wait. He needs to go away. The sooner the better!

It doesn’t bother me they killed off the wife character. Not that the actress was bad, it was a case of bad casting in the first place. Never believed those two as a couple anyway. Otherwise, this show hits me like a box of itching powder. A lot of irritating things -none all that bad- but the total effect is

Otherwise, this show hits me like a box of itching powder. A lot of irritating things -none all that bad- but the total effect is unpleasant. Tried watching this show enough times to find out it’ll never get better for me.

Understand others do like this show, so I’ll leave it to you - quite willingly.

I was really getting to know the characters and starting to enjoy the quirky personalities of each one, but then out of no where they killed off the wife and brought James' King of Queens costar on. What a terrible mistake. This show is just plain annoying now. The screaming and slap stick crap is old, old, old. I'm done with this show. Too bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Kevin can wait is the absolute worst. So predictably not funny. It is obvious that they have run out of ideas. Now that they have added Leah Remini it comes off more like bad episodes of King Of Queens.
