This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A classic piece of millennial city slicker unrealism . Beside the fact that the lead character should have died many times going through the stupid mistakes she makes and unfortunately she doesn't this for the most of the time isn't about a survival at all. For the most of the time you are watching flashbacks of the life of a rather boring yuppie you hope finds out what a grizzly eats by being chewed on instead of poking through its ****
This series is a total waste of time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not sure if I’m actual going to spoil anything I’m up to ep 3 so this will spoil scenes in first 3 episodes if you know nothing and want to know nothing. I’ll change my review if this show manages to somehow utilize its numerous flaws to its advantage. This is so contrived I think every scene has something that screams amateur writing and cannot suspend my disbelief at all. Here’s the big spoiler I think: the main character, the audience, me, is not going to make it to a point where I’m going give myself over to this garbage. I don’t care about her vague mental health issue from childhood, the mysterious house fire, the cliche alienated parent dynamic, the pregnancy, the boyfriend co-worker or her work life balance — all the backstory they injected that is supposed to make me connect with this lawyer in the woods . I want to know if the bear eats her and I want to watch the bear walk around the woods instead. Then the bear poops and another character from another show finds her tooth in the poop because people like going through bear poop. And that tooth becomes a piece of weird haunted jewelry that helps people win court cases. But then someone kills the bear and the jewelry no longer helps in court right before a verdict is about to be decided on in a 12 angry men like jury deliberation room. Suddenly everyone has to poop like the bear. And everyone in the world is found not guilty of everything and the world goes mad and blows itself up and is taken over by bears. But I don’t think that will happen. So the dramatic question is will I ever know if this becomes an amazing show about bear poop creating haunted court room jewelry that leads to a planet of the bears or not. Expand

Once you start "Breathing," there's a curiosity about how it all turns out, especially since the time demands aren't that daunting. That's not an awful bargain, but if you're waiting for it to get better, well, don't hold your breath.

Barrera sells the idea that she can absolutely survive, making her resourcefulness in the situation almost plausible. Now we just need to see where the plot goes, which will play out in those flashbacks. ... One of the things we like about the six-episode limited series is that the episodes are all around 30 minutes, so you’re not seeing Liv wandering around the wilderness for hours on end.

A show with so many good elements. It's too bad that “Keep Breathing” can't figure out how to put them all together.
