Justified in name only - and without the title, it becomes a somewhat sub-par police show. The change of scenery from the interesting and underused countryside setting to Detroit makes it generic, instead of characteristic, and sidelining Raylan in his own show is detrimental. It is only two episodes, however. Let's hope for improvements.

Feels tired. Olyphant looks tired. All these tropes and stereotypes have been done to the death. However this is nothing compared to the utter stupidity of the plot and the motivations of the token bad guy Clement. It just reminds us that Peak TV was 10 years ago

It may not match Justified at its prime, but this fresh exploration of Marshal Givens works on a level that will serve to keep veteran viewers happy indeed. And yes, the mane is still intact.

Scripted by Dave Andron and Michael Dinner, two Justified writers, it retains the original’s noir-ish sensibility and sly dialogue, even if the pithy putdowns don’t have the hit-rate of the original.
