This ongoing drama serial with a science fiction background was set in the mid 21st century on board the science station Ilea, in geostationary orbit above Space City, a human colony on Callisto, the outermost of the Galilean moons of Jupiter. The show followed the lives of the crew of the space station and the students and staff of the Columbus College of the University of Space.
Jupiter Moon was a Primetime-Andromeda production for British Satellite Broadcasting's Galaxy channel. 108 episodes of this thrice-weekly serial were broadcast but the show was cancelled when Galaxy ceased broadcasting in December 1990 following the merger between BSB and rival satellite broadcaster Sky. The balance of 42 episodes were finally given a first showing on British television when the show was resurrected by the UK Sci-Fi channel in 1995.
