    If the first episode is any indication, the cases are still the same brand of Jerry Springer-esque crazy that they’ve always been. ... For them [fans], Judy Justice should be more of what they love, even if it doesn’t really break new ground for Sheindlin or the judge-show genre.

    Watched in a vacuum, “Judy Justice” is competently made, starring practiced talent and crafted by producers who know what they’re doing. Taken as a series available on a platform, and in a streaming landscape, with many more options, it’s hard to imagine picking it. The best thing that can be said for “Judy Justice” is that it is deeply unsurprising. ... “Judy Justice” is just more of the same.

    It’s essentially the same type of courtroom show, albeit with more episodes focused on a single case than the two cases per episode as was traditional on “Judge Judy.”
