Joe Pera Talks With You is genius in every way. It's relaxing, inspiring, funny, and it hits every single mark it tries to reach. The only thing I could wish for from this series is more than just 2 seasons

This show has the calming feel of a warm fire at your grandparents house as you sit and sip on hot coco as your grandpa tells you old stories about him and his friends. It puts you into a different world, but one which isn't too unfamiliar. I'm not too sure how else to describe this show, but I certainly recommend it.

Joe Pera Talks with You is a delight in every way. There's something comforting and hauntingly beautiful about every episode, and throughout there's a whole lot of humor. Joe has a view of the world that encourages joy and positivity, and the show helps if you're feeling a little down and out, or even if you simply just could be having a better day. Joe has a view of the world that encourages joy and positivity, and the show helps if you're feeling a little down and out, or even if you simply just could be having a better day. Joe's fascination with things that many would just pass by gives pause, and brings on a contemplative mindset that asks "why haven't I thought about that before? That's neat."

I will say that the acting in the show is not any kind of Hollywood silver-screen type polished perfection. But that's not a bad thing, and if anything, it's a selling point of the show. Joe's show is acting if it were done by normal people, who were saying normal things. Joe Pera Talks with You doesn't need any fancy acting, because it portrays everyday life, and everyday people. It doesn't need to be acted, because the characters are living, not acting.

I also think that Joe has done a wonderful job just portraying life in America that isn't a fancy coastal existence and has no qualms about being what it is. The show looks plainly, lovingly, and unabashedly at life in Michigan, Wisconsin, and by extension much of middle America, and does not treat those places as second class to New York or Los Angeles. It does not treat people who aren't in the city as backwards, or uneducated, or undeserving of our attention, because they are just people, like any others.

A great show to watch for a good laugh while relaxing. Very aesthetically pleasing and clever, probably one of the better shows out there.

Joe Pera is a shining beacon of sincerity in an age where irony and cynicism have been relentlessly marketed back to us. An agent of relaxation in turbulence, hope in despair.

Kind, surprising, and slow comedy that lulls you into a meditative trance in order to slyly land an unexpected, but perfectly executed punchline. Not much like this show out there in the world - a genuinely creative, uplifting balm for the senses. Anti-humor at it's finest. The greatest thing that has happened to television in years.

Listening to Joe Pera helps me escape some of the harsh realities of the world, when I start listening it's a great escape, however when it nears towards the end I feel a great sense of dread. Good thing I can always restart the video.

Feel good comedy at its finest. Joe’s ability to take pleasure in the mundane and ordinary is both heartwarming and hilarious.

In an age where overproduced is the name of the game Joe Pera reminds us of the beauty in the little things and how much comedy is in the mundane.

My brother described this show to me as "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood for Adults", and I think that description is apt. Like Rogers, Pera speaks directly to us, the viewers, with a soothing, neighborly delivery. In a text to my brother, thanking him for recommending the show, I initially got the name wrong. I thought it was Joe Pera Talks To You, but I now realize it's actually Joe Pera Talks *With* You. I think that distinction is important.

You need to go in with the understanding that this show is unlike anything else on television today. It isn't flashy, showy, or over-the-top. Instead, Pera chooses to focus on and amplify the simple beauty that can be found all around us.

For your first viewing, I think it's best to watch this show alone with an empty house (if you can manage it), because unlike other shows, this one is an experience. You aren't just watching Joe go rock hunting, bean planting, and jack-o-lantern carving, you're going there with him. This show made me laugh a deep hearty laugh and, several times, cry. I again recommend doing your first viewing alone, if only so that you don't feel pressured to repress your reactions.

I think this show is so fantastic that I created a metacritic account just to write this review. If you enjoy this show as much as I do, please consider writing a review or sharing it with a friend so that more people can experience Pera's masterpiece.
