Jericho should be viewed as a WAKE UP CALL. The behavior of the townspeople is what would be expected in a real life situation. Surviorlists have the right idea. God help the rest of us!!

Jericho is the first show since "24" that has kept me coming back for more. I wasn't aware of the show until several weeks into the season. Fortunately, CBS has posted all previous FULL episodes online so I was able to go back and watch from the beginning.

Forget about the scientific goofs. There's enough bad in the basic writing to make this turkey deserve a 3. My problem is basically that this show's hook is the aftermath of a nuclear attack on a small town. Yet it seems 80% of each episode is some guy thinking about leaving his wife. A hostage drama, a bus full of kids that need to be saved, a girl dreaming about her wedding. Forget about the scientific goofs. I long for shows which have the content and potetnial of this one. Shame then when I find it boring and annoying already. A few episodes in and I catch myself yelling at the telly for making it formulaic and treating me with contenpt to keep the viewer watching through the next advert by teasing me with that next little piece of info..........

The show has some serious issues with regard to radiation facts. The main character, who I love, is just a little too everywhere. Saving lives, putting out fires, blowing up mines! Also the slow motion of finding out who Hawkins is can drive you insane enough to abandon the movie. If the episodes weren't on the web I'd probably miss most of them.

This thing got a lot of shotty reviews from the "real critics" before it even came out. I don't think it's a Seinfeld or West Wing or anything...but I do think it has a relatively good story line and isn't totally out there. The mushroom clouds got me to watch the first episode. The impending fallout kept me watching the second episode. I agree with "Anonymous" who gave it a 3. Too many things made me go "huh?" Many things in this show were simply ridiculous and contrived. A nuclear attack upon the U.S. indeed could happen, but if it did it, real people wouldn't act this way. With all the hype I was looking forward to the premiere, but was very disappointed. I decided to give it another chance, and thought the second episode was a little better. I admit to being sucked in to see what would happen next. But overall I saw bad acting, bad dialogue, no characters to whom I could relate, and everything seemed so phony. Couldn't the writers at least do a little research about nuclear explosions and their aftermath, fallout shelters, etc.? For example, don't they know that sealing doors and windows with plastic sheeting and duct tape is for a GAS attack and would be no protection at all against nuclear radiation? Air doesn't become radioactive. Radiation from fallout dust particles acts like invisible light, and doesn't turn corners. What is needed in a fallout shelter is simply mass (metal, earth, wood, bricks, etc.) above and on all sides, and a long entrance that turns at least one corner. No door is even necessary. I think that only people who have low IQ's or who are able to suspend their reasoning abilities will enjoy this show; the rest of us will be too frustrated by all the incorrect details and bad acting. 1. A catastrophic nuclear crisis never looked as boring and convoluted as it does here.
  2. "Jericho" doesn't pretend to be artistically risky, but it's got a scary and gripping theme in an age of terrorism and nuclear thuggery.
  3. Jericho works when it sticks to the eerie surreality of a nuclear attack... The show, unfortunately, flops about in its first two episodes, leaning too heavily on the action-adventure stuff.
