Inside Man on paper should have been phenomenal. Instead, The awkward attempts at comedy and stupid character decisions (especially by Tennant's character) just ruin the show IMO.

David Tennant's performance was amazing but his character was so stupid that it ruined the whole show.

OtherWhen war breaks out in 1914 Germany, a student (Felix Kammerer) and his friends eagerly enlist. His experiences in the muddy trenches and scorched fields slowly erode his enthusiasm, as he comes to grips with the realities of combat. Other than one gripping scene near the end (he kills a French soldier) much of the bloody devastation lacks impact. There are some impressively staged sequences full of fire and death, but even the strewn about mangled bodies lose their impact. Anyone who saw 1917 (my review) has pretty much seen this movie from a different POV. However, 1917 was much more effective in painting the horrors of war and its effects on the soldiers. Expand

What has happened to writers these days? The opening sequence is just dripping with every cliché that you've seen writers fall into for the last 5 years and to say it's boringly tiresome would be an understatement. After reading reviews I'm glad I didn't waste my time anymore than I already did. Expand

Another stellar cast for a piece of crap television. Pompous bs lines, huge cliches, like the murderer on death row doing good, the vicar doing bad.. no shyt. Sounnds like a retard's epiphany after a bottle of vodka. And that's pretty much what it is and the show's qualiy of writing. That's the basis for all religions so nothing new there. Watch any Harlan Coben's adaptatio's instead, at least there's talent there Expand

The performances are very good, as you'd expect from this cast, but Moffat's writing lets the side down. His dialogue is poorly written and the plotting is ham-fisted. Were this designed to be a dark comedy, I might have enjoyed it, but as it is meant to be a serious drama, it can only be labelled a failure. I was laughing at it, not with it. Expand
