Idiotsitter is another excellent addition to CC's lineup of off-kilter sitcom endeavors, providing its own distinct comedic sense to the current milieu. Though boasting a superb ancillary cast, the show is really carried by co-stars and creators Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell, whose undeniable chemistry on set has proven to be a constant source of delight. Newhouse in particular pulls off the role of hopelessly awkward adult-nanny Billie Brown with a consistency that is nothing short of charming, while both bring to the table an extraordinarily sharp grasp of comic timing. Occasionally uneven pacing does little to deter from the rich humor on display here, and I frankly can't recommend it enough.

P.S: Stephen Root is fantastic in this, so, you know, come on y'all.

Holy wow! I am a huge fan of Comedy Central's shows, especially Broad City (love those girls!) and Workaholics, but Idiotsitter is fast becoming my absolute favorite out of the three! It has a similar kind of unexpected humor that's brilliantly dumb in the best possible way and I just love the relationship between Billie and Gene. I love how far some of these episodes go - Channing Tatum fantasy? Yes please! And that episode with the Carrie homage was total genius. Both of the actresses are so funny—I've seen Jillian Bell in other stuff but it's amazing to discover Charlotte Newhouse. I also think it's awesome that they created the show—yay ladies! Expand

Idiotsitter can be a little uneven, but when it's funny, it's REALLY funny. The storytelling could use a little help sometimes, but even at those moments the humor is carried by the considerable talents of Jillian Bell and Charlotte Newhouse. Newhouse was new to me but is completely charming and hilarious as dweebish bookworm Billie, tasked with watching her polar opposite, Tasmanian Devil of Selfishness Gene (Bell). When this show is on point, and it often is, it completely and I do mean COMPLETELY cracks me up. My sense is that the best eps are the ones written by Bell and Newhouse themselves. Definitely recommend this. Yes, it's off the wall humor with a feel similar to Workaholics, but is also surprisingly sweet, and the characters are quite likeable. Expand

Honestly one of my all-time favourite shows. Absolutely HILARIOUS. Everyone saying it's not funny, it's weird, etc; the whole point of the show is to create something unique, and I think Idiotsitter hits that head-on.

The pilot was made available early online, so I gave this a try. I don't recommend watching it. All I could think during the painful 30 minute presentation was why was this made, and how did someone decided to waste money on making this a series. Ugh.

Some dumb comedies are smart in their dumbness, and some are just idiotic and cheap, and Idiotsitter falls in the latter category. I don't know what show the critics were watching, but it must have been a different Idiotsitter. I gave up on this one halfway through..

Some critics like this because they identify with the round figure of the main character. It is a disgraceful sitcom, both in text and aesthetics. If you like watching ugly people saying stupid things by the way of retro-hipster banter, and you like obesity, this is your show.

Hilarious, awkward, edgy, and a love letter to stoner comedies, as a show! Reminds me a little bit of Playing House but with more degeneracy (in a good way!) :D

The talent involved is enough to ensure that Comedy Central’s latest is vaguely amusing, but Idiotsitter should have been more riotous than amiable, more uniquely ruthless than blandly juvenile.

For all the self-protective aggressiveness and passive aggressiveness on display, Idiotsitter is tender at its core and toward its characters.

Idiotsitter, a smartly crass comedy, plays like a treatment for a wacky buddy-movie, shrunk to a smaller scale for TV.
