Really fun and exciting re-imagining of a classic story. The lack of full frontal nudity was very disappointing, but overall, the best new show on TV

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (2021) certainly doesn't bring anything fresh to the table, but with 8 hours of wiggle room, it allows the story room to breath. Beyond the basic setup, this modern take on the novel is nowhere similar to the 1997 film, but is still tense and propulsive in its own right. With a wickedly good performance from Madison Iseman, the rest of the cast kind of floats by, and really the only reason to keep watching is to witness these teenagers what is coming to them. And surprisingly the central mystery is tightly written, with red herrings left and right, and a whole slew of suspects and uncertainties that I honestly have no idea where the show is going. May get upgraded to an 8 depending on it's ending. Expand

It doesn't conjure up nostalgic memories of the late '90s and early '00s. It just turns I Know What You Did Last Summer into yet another sour Gen Z drama without much personality of its own.

There’s no fun to be found in this glossy yet charmless reboot, which takes a swing at bringing the slasher film to the TikTok age and misses by miles.

There are a couple of fun moments to be had, with wince-inducing kills and a level of far-fetchedness that is admittedly hilarious. But devoid of a magnetic ensemble and dominated by characters of overwhelming narcissism, it is unwieldy and dispiriting, and acutely unaware of what made the film version so effective.
