Derek Cianfrance work is valued because of his honesty when it comes about family. ''I know this much is true'' is a beautiful portrait of it. His directing as always, is remarkable, and the art direction is subtle but present. The cast so well put and natural, one of the best performances of Mark Ruffalo so far. Though I have to say, besides all positives sides, the last two episodes felt in a hurry, I would have written at least seven. That's the main reason I'm not giving it a 9/10. Expand

Grade A, bold capital letter DRAMA - as overt as a punch in the gut. Kathryn Hahn and John Procaccino are stellar, and I had no idea Ruffalo was this **** good. I Know This Much Is True was a harsh relentless drama.

From beginning to end, you can barely see a glimpse of light.
This is not a happy story, at all. It's tragedy after tragedy, combined with frustration, grief, loss, depression and death.

Mark Ruffalo does a phenomenal job. And it reminds the world of the great dramatic actor he is. Especially for those who only recognize him as Bruce Banner / Hulk.

There's other good names in the cast like Imogen Poots, Kathryn Hahn, Melissa Leo and Juliette Lewis but this show belongs in its entirety to Ruffalo and his double performance.

There are steps of calm and redemption towards the end but even so this miniseries perhaps will not be liked by many for its dark and pessimistic tone but it's a very well-run story that I liked quite a lot despite the hopelessness of its thematic.

A solid return for director Derek Cianfrance.
