    House MD centers around a misanthropic, cynical and egotistical jerk named Greg House who has flash epiphanies that allow him to diagnose difficult cases. Each episode follows a simple formula of symptom, false diagnoses, epiphany and correct diagnosis. The personal lives of the doctors and patients are analyzed and discussed using cunning insights and witty dialogue. Each episode follows a simple formula of symptom, false diagnoses, epiphany and correct diagnosis. The personal lives of the doctors and patients are analyzed and discussed using cunning insights and witty dialogue. There are a lot of funny moments with House deriding people or being sarcastic. The magic of the show is that it has a simple and effective procedural structure and completely unpredictable dialogue. This is one of the best shows of recent years.… Expand

    Hooks you in right away with Hugh Laurie's top-notch performance and the interesting cases he's handed. Truly fascinating at times, it'll at times have you shaking your head at its brilliance. Oh, and it's pretty funny at times too. Watching the later seasons really makes me pine for the level of quality that this show was at when it began. Kick back and enjoy some great television.     It seems like they love connection between House and Cuddy knocked things overboard for me, at that point I grabbed my life vest and jumped off the House Boat. I haven't stopped watching it completely, just not as often as I used to. After 13 left, and they killed off Kutner (Kal Penn) the boat start capsizing.    … Expand

What makes it unique is a protagonist sharing similar characteristics to that of Sherlock Holmes but set in the diagnostic world of medicine where rare cases are waiting to be solved by this Sherlock character known as Gregory House. His team and his friends in the hospital are what make the show of course and all bounce back off him with ideas, conversations and theories. You get to see patient surgeries, rare cases and stuff normal ER shows and the like don't show and are just every day cases and in comparison to this, just boring. Through Season 1 - 8 characters leave and go. Some think this is bad whereas others as myself think this gives variety for new characters to be introduced, almost always character endings get closure and always come back for cameo appearances in the Princeton Plainsboro hospital. Like I said cases are not the only thing that keeps me coming back for more and more, heavyily dramatised events where depression, unfortunate circumstances occur to the characters and just out-of-the-ordinary events keeps you intrigued and immersed in this world from Season 1 all the way 'till the end of Season 8 which is said to end with one of the best finales on TV this year. Every House M.D. season has reached more than 80.1 million viewers worldwide which is crazy and the show is in my opinion of the best, earning numerous awards during its premier and playthrough of seasons and been ranked as one of the most successful TV shows of all time. If it's not the best TV show it's definitely the best medical/drama show on the planet! House MD for ever! 11/10 - if possible, I would give it. Fans need to understand this show is about House himself and does involve the others but mainly him and his interactions so he's not always in the hospital solving cases (but the majority of the time he is and they take about an episode each, he does do clinic hours in between solving normal cases in a matter of seconds without even going next to them but just by observing - brilliant mind. The fact is this show hasn't lost it but become more mainstream without losing fancy medical terms and names and still retaining the great originality and awesomeness of the show. Each episode people watch in shock and awe and I always check on the internet for the names I do not know and what they usually are in more detail. Surprisingly, most of the mistakes are not medical ones... lol. So yeah, don't think this show has gone off-track or hill since characters have come and go, they are great, will be remembered and is sad to see some go but these interactions are what we notice and love with them and House and it is mainly about House - he'll never leave, otherwise no show! Besides, characters when leaving, always have closure and makes you feel better about them and understand them more than ever and that's what so great about this show, everything is perfectly scripted and set out. The finale has been rumored to call back all characters previously left for a cameo appearance in the last episode as a way of saving goodbye with the title 'everybody dies' of the episode name, this is a spin off of House's saying/philosophy about people 'Everybody Lies' as well as when solving cases always dismisses the auto-immune disease 'Lupus' saying "It's never Lupus!", which has become a well-known joke by fans over the time of the series' events. Basically summarized, this is and will always be the best TV show ever! 10/10!… Expand

    House, M.D. is one of the most cerebral shows, as well as one of the funniest and most well-written shows of all time. It is a clever blend of reality and fiction. It will keep you guessing throughout as well as make you laugh.

    Terrific dialog. Normal people who are not plucked out of the pages of GQ or Vogue. Nice pacing, with believable sub-plots stringing across episodes, and the week's plot wrapped up in a neat package by the end of the episode.

    Amazing show, Dr. House is an incredibly charismatic and complex character and Hugh Laurie does such a tremendous job of playing that role. The show does a great job of balancing drama and comedy along with the characters changing/evolving over time.

    The introduction of its characters happens so smoothly, peeling off layers little by little, giving us small but ever so necessary details. It starts off with a bang and that makes House a great show to recommend to a friend with an empty schedule. 8.6/10

    House surprisingly, the character is sí is amazing the charisma that he exudes is unmistakable, it is certainly one of the best series in history, and Hugh Laurie gave life to one of the most amazing characters I've ever seen.

    This was tied for my favourite TV show, ever. I was saddened when they announced that Dr. Gregory House would not be in any more strange adventures which somehow tie into the plot to save the patient in the end.

    I've been watching this on netflix for a little bit now, and I haven't even finished the first season yet. I really like it so far though. I like the medical mystery and the plot line a lot. If you enjoy medical dramas, I'd highly recommend checking this out.

    I caught a few half seasons of House later on in its initial run on Fox but since it was recently added to Netflix streaming I decided to start watching it all from the begging. This first seasons format was the typical case-of-the-week procedural with a few story lines stretching multiple episodes, I prefer shows that have an overarching serialized plot, House is a rare exception.

This first seasons format was the typical case-of-the-week procedural with a few story lines stretching multiple episodes, I prefer shows that have an overarching serialized plot, House is a rare exception.

    The show has a few key elements that make me like it despite its flaws and format. Hugh Laurie plays Doctor House beautifully and is the main reason for my liking the show, his character is a defiant cynic who is a bit of a misanthrope. You well either love or hate House because of those characteristics and his attitude overall, but at least you'll know after watching the first episode weather or not you want to watch more.

    House doesn't have a lot of connections with people but the ones he does have are quite interesting, The dialog and friendship between him and Dr. Wilson is very entertaining and grows through the series as I remember it. The Cuddy connection is also fun to watch.

    The low lights for the show is the predictable pattern it uses when diagnosing the medical case for that week. The diagnostic team for season 1 consists of House, Cameron, Chase, and Foreman. They will sit around the white board with House and toss up their ideas as to why some patient is sick. No body will really like the first few ideas but they will begin the treatment for something anyway to try and narrow down the real cause. After a few more tests, breaking into the patient's house, or by some other trope, new information will be gathered about the patient. Because of this new information they are more sure of what is wrong in their next white board session and they start in on the next treatment with a great deal of confidence but every episode they will be wrong again and it will fail as well, toward the end of the episode House will come up with the real reason the patient is sick and the shows over. From time to time Dr. Wilson or some other person will be involved with the diagnostic potion but its still very predictable unfortunately. Somehow House manages to make all of this otherwise lackluster part entertaining and interesting.

    Also Jennifer Morrison is great as Dr. Cameron, a very caring somewhat shy person who happens to be one of the shows first smoke shows, her vest and lab coat wardrobe for season 1 is on point.    … Expand

    I love House. I love how thoughtful the lines in it are, I love the puzzles and how nicely they tie in with the side-drama between the main characters. I love how each of the medical mysteries are different throughout the seasons. I love what an **** House is because even though he's an **** he's a funny **** at least. It balances drama with intellect and comedy just beautifully.... showing the characters as they evolve and change and grow throughout the series while of course saving the lives of many interesting patients.

    Admittedly, I would love to give it a 10 but the reason I can't is because I really can't say I enjoyed the 8th/last season as much as I loved the others. I own all of them on DVD (just before they got put up on netflix) and although I'll watch any of the seasons multiple times I don't watch the last one nearly as much. Secondly, I do have to point out that, for the most part, the layout of the show is all the same and you sort of come to expect it. It's enjoyable but....still....redundant....    … Expand

    One of those I watched because the Mrs kept putting it on but after a while it wasn't half bad. It's well written, very well acted and light enough to watch during the day (for those of you with kids).

    Even if this kind of series is not your thing you can't deny that Dr House is interesting and a total legend :)

    very informative,makes me a little more paranoid about my health issue. no unnecessary drama, this would be better if the show explain some of medical words so the viewer doesnt feel left out.

    Cada episdoio es sorprendente y auque sepas cual será el desenlace, te mantiene durante todo el tiempo en tensión pero manteniendo siempre un tono comico liderado por un personaje inigualable que hace esta serie unica en su estilo.

Gregory House played by Hugh Laurie is a the culmination of the one half of the legendary stand up comic duo of Fry & Laurie into a full-fledgedHouse, MD. is perfect in what it tries to do. And what it is tries to do show the human body and it soul and the complications that it faces that must be entangled by someone who has to be an outsider in a very Sherlock-sian and Freudian way. Gregory House played by Hugh Laurie is a the culmination of the one half of the legendary stand up comic duo of Fry & Laurie into a full-fledged actor who has delved so well into the painful and antagonistic side of a main character in a way that can be drawn a parallel to the Robert Downey Jr. went onto own the role of Tony Stark; the difference being that while RDJ very much embodied those personality traits, Laurie necessarily doesn't but molds himself so certainly that you can't help but question if it's altogether improbable to find some common ground between House and Hugh. Pain-ridden, guilt-stricken, disturbed, crippled, the genius of House is that you can't relate to House, not really but makes you want to go out on a limb for this man (like Jennifer Morrison's Cameron does time and time again) is that he really want to do the right thing despite knowing all the flaws and unfairness it all ends up from and leads up to numerous times. He chooses to help not just because it is his oath to keep but he has long ago taken up the mantle of doing what others can't, at least not always - The necessary.
    The Diagnostic Department underling trio along with Lisa Edelstein's Cuddy and Robert Sean Leanard's Wilson create this energetic and thrilling dynamic between these characters where each conversation pulls away at layers of their truths and lies and to make sure you are not ever distracted or disinterested , a healthy and fairly regular dose of over-top and astronomical quality of medical differential diagnoses are done which shows doctors in a light akin to those rockstars, detectives and messiahs melding into a potboiler of an achievement, which is an endorsement pursuers of medicine would quite appreciate.
    This is a very practical, realistic and thrilling joyride to the destination of achieving the status of being a self-indulgent hypochondriac and even if you don't end up being that, you'll still have the joy of watching this show. And there is so much left to be explored in season 2...    … Expand

    Portraying the real idea behind the character Sherlock Holmes, Hugh Laurie steals the show and won't let you leave it. Other characters besides Gregory seems a bit under-cooked but it is a minor flaw in this whole beautiful and long journey of house. It seems a bit stretched after the fifth season but gives you a satisfactory end.

    Funny, probing and unsentimental, House may shock the systems of viewers used to sweetie M.D.s like ER's Dr. Carter. But as an honest look at techno-medicine and the prerogatives of genius, it's a tonic.

    Between Laurie's more-great-than-good doctor and cases that encompass everything from bad ham to complete body meltdown, House preys on all that's wrong (and some of what's right) with modern medicine.
