Beyonce is amazing. The amount of work she goes through with her background dancers is incredible.

I tried. I really tried. I try not to be a snob when it comes to entertainment, and I try to appreciate things out of my wheelhouse, but I couldn't lose sight of my estimation of Beyonce and her ilk; entertainment industry muzak. There is nothing here for me. Music is a spectrum with two poles for me; artist to entertainer. Nothing wrong with either and if you can do both, genius. BeyonceI tried. I really tried. I guess if I were mired in that genre and could recognize the brilliance she has within it, I'd change my tune, but that genre of music is devoid of anything compelling for me. Kudos to Beyonce for her hard work and success, I'd never say she hasn't earned her place, but this is not for me. Expand

I just don't get the obsession with overpaid performers especially those in music.

As can be seen by the reviews: it's pretty polarising - the fans like it, the non-fans not.

Not impressed by "Beyonce's" film - as if she made it?
This woman is as vile as they come, a total disgrace of a human being.

This is an amazing film. It shows insight into the hard work Beyoncé put into her Coachella show, and also a little into her personal life. Every single part of the film is captivating and perfectly put together.

I'm quite firm in the fact of experiencing something before criticizing it and in this case it was like that, but it only came to vindicate my opinion that Beyoncé is just a good performer, not a real artist or a real musician for that matter.

Beyoncé does it again! I don’t know what i love more, the choreography or the live vocals. She really sets the bar high for modern day performances. She also wasn’t scared to express her vulnerability after the twins. A must watch.

This concert kept me on my feet the entire time. The choreography, musical arrangements, and vocals are all top tier. This concert has a ton of surprises, especially in terms of its music selections. Couldn't ask for anything more from this concert film.

All this hype for a pop singer that we see everywhere? To me, this documentary just proves more that Beyoncé is just a brand, a product and make a impact just when she releases something

You're going to get a bunch of quirky people trying so hard to be subversive hating in the comments but at this point, her talent and work ethic is undeniable and to disrespect her on that merit is foolish. Watch this and revel in seeing someone at the top of their game use their platform for good.

Homecoming, in all its inspiring and self-mythologising glory, doesn’t just cement her legacy as a musical force who is proudly and defiantly black and female, but as a woman eager to ensure that others like her will follow in her footsteps, too.

Homecoming is directed and performed with exacting precision, but it’s freewheeling too, its star favoring spliced and inventive arrangements of her hits, the totality of which make the film feel more like a pinnacle than a pilgrimage.

The full thing on Netflix, framed as the fruit of artistic striving, may come close to achieving its epic ambitions, but it’s too soon to tell—the verdict won’t be in until a whole generation of children, homeschooling themselves on its choreography, have come of age.
