The half-hour musical comedy has been favorably compared to “Schitt’s Creek” and “Glee.” Those are apt comparisons for this warm-hearted confection.

As good natured as it is, “Happiness” is also fairly generic; one wonders if it would have been programmed if it weren’t an import. It is, in short, your basic “High School Musical”-“Glee”-“Smash”-“Waiting for Guffman”-type community-theater situation comedy.

With six 20-minute episodes, its script has been economically whittled down; much like Pizazz’s nonexistent budget, it works wonders. The cast chomp into their roles, adding enough weight to their romances, feuds and raison d’Pizazz.
