    While the second season was better than the first, it is not good. Things start out promising but unnecessary devolve. Why was the Florida Grange character, an apparently 30 year old lawyer, attracted to Hap an over 50 near drifter. James Purefoy's accent actually becomes worse in season 2. The story of Hap and Leonard's childhood tragedy is overshadowed by the another story line to theWhile the second season was better than the first, it is not good.     'Hap and Leonard' continues to improve and delivers a brilliant season premiere with the always talented James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams leading the way. It also just giver the right amount of information to keep us hooked and wanting more and more.

    Hap and Leonard is also a case where six episodes feels just about right. There’s time to have fun, meet some people, tell a story and leave while everyone’s still enjoying the party. As they should.

    The new episodes are more nimble and fun without ever undercutting the tragedies at the heart of the story, and as a result it’s a better showcase for the appealing leads.
