Pearlman and Delany were great! Fabulous series - I couldn't stop watching, far better than a lot of the drivel on TV these days. I'm not sure if it's expected to continue on with a second season or if episode 10 is the series finale but I would love to see more.

Amazing, cannot stop watching this. Finally an awesome show.
I'd binge watch 100 episodes of this. Absolutely fantastic.
I cannot believe nor understand why this would get bad reviews or why it would get cancelled, this speaks of how unrefined, superficial and dumb people have become.

This series pulled me into its world and never let me go. The characters and story were both intriguing - I hope Amazon gives us a second season, as I would love to know what happens next!

Awesome show. I have watched all episodes and i just cant wait for a season 2. Perlman is fantastic along With several other actors. Storyline is unusually unpredictable, which is very rare now-days, and this makes this show one of the most original ever made in recent times.

Excellent. Smart. Many levels. You have to see it a couple of times if you don't want to miss that treat . And a special treat it is as tv series are often pretty straight foreward. This one isn't. Excellent.

Absolutely brilliant! From the plot to the cast and execution. I ended up watching it a couple of times, and it didn't loose it's appeal to me on re-watching. This show is amazing! I started watching it on Saturday morning and binge watched the whole season. This is not the kind of show I usually watch so i was very surprised I fell so in love. I would recommend this show to anyone looking for a unique TV series. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

What a surprisingly engaging series! The actors are top notch in their character portrayals. Ron Perlman brings that "large", dominating presence to each scene. The truly amazing thing is how the creators/writers walk such a fine line with the religious aspects of the show. It's all vague/ambiguous enough that it's really left to the viewer to interpret what unfolds, they don't lead you by the nose. And this series has it all, rape, murder, tight bonds, betrayal, prostitution (classy though), pure politics, office politics, mysterious backgrounds, questionable motivations, etc etc. You will NOT be bored - there is literally a dramatic flavor for every viewer. Finally, the episodes are very well engineered. I'm the type that will FF through boring, useless portions but not "Hand of God", every scene has a nugget of value you need to capture and remember because there are threads that you need to follow even into season 2. Well, I really don't understand the critics to this show. It is by far one of the best series I have ever watched. I am not a fan of any religion but I love the approach this script has into it. It could have been a good series - an interesting idea and some fine acting from Ron Perlman and Dana Delaney. But where oh where did they find the appalling Alona Tal? Not since David Harewood's laughably inept performance in Homeland have we seen such dreadful acting. Awful.

This is a show I looked forward to and watched 3 episodes before deciding it stinks. Everything from the plot to the acting is disappointing. I give it a zero.

It deserved more than two seasons.

The series can’t be anything but good when it stars Ron Perlman and Garret Dillahunt (and others). Perlman is Judge Pernell Harris, the corrupt judge has a breakdown after the suicide attempt of his son.

This breakdown results in him falling in with a con-artist preacher and his girlfriend, and gaining a loyal follower in Garret Dillahunt. The voices point to who is responsible for the attempted suicide and a whole host of intrigue begins from there.

Originally I was going to do reviews on the season level, but sadly Amazon notified the public that there was only two seasons, so I felt I could do it in one go.

The story starts off intriguing and just hits almost all the right tones. Perlman is always great, there are small hints of his character in SoA, along with other characters he has played. Garret Dillahunt is standout in this and the intensity of his character almost steals the show.

There were some less stellar parts. I found after the first six episodes I didn’t like the storyline with the preacher and his girlfriend, and in the second season I disliked how Perlman’s “faith” changed (I won’t go into details though). However, that being said I really enjoyed the series and I am saddened that it didn’t get a third season. I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed Ron Perlman especially.

Pros: With the name Perlman in the credits, it is going to be a fun watch, he doesn’t disappoint and neither does his “Benaiah” played by Garret Dillahunt. The scenes with just the two of them make it worth the time.

Cons: The preacher storyline I found annoying. However, that could be because I don’t have a strong attachment with that portion of religion and not the fault of the actors/actresses involved.

I am disappointed there wasn’t a third season.

There’s a much more entertaining but less intensely violent show buried in Hand of God somewhere.

Hand of God’s strengths are its elongated scenes, enabling the characters ample time to play off one another.... The wheels keep turning but can take too long to get rolling while the plot hits some ruts in the road.

This is a show that's unnecessarily bleak, far too impressed with its own edginess, and completely predictable to anyone who's watched television before.
