Season 2 continues with the strengths of the show and gives one of the best conclusions to any TV show. I was more than satisfied and wished this was not the last season. The characters are lovable, the story is great, the humor is excellent and it is full of ideas. The story continues the summer vacation of the twins Dipper and Mabel Pines in Gravity Falls. It is a small rural town in Oregon where their Gruncle (= Great Uncle) Stan has a tourist trap called the Mystery Shack. They already discovered a lot of secrets but there is more and her Gruncle is up to something. I am vague here to avoid spoilers. The story is great and culminates into a great final. Like I said the conclusion is excellent that I have only praise. It is as satisfying as enjoyable. Rarely ever did a show give you a perfect resolve. The humor is always great and takes nothing away from the serious parts. The cast is amazing. I really liked all of them with Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Wendy, Soos, Gideon, Bill and the whole townspeople. Each one is relatable in their struggles, worldviews and quirks. The mixture of good story arcs and great likable characters are a strength of the show (Or for every good show to be precise). The presentation is excellent. Be it the art style, animations, soundtrack or voice actors everything is enjoyable. Overall my only critique is that the show ended here. Everything is great and a 10/10 is the only option for me. Expand

Absolutely fell in love with the show after finishing season 1. It had charm, fun characters a sense of humor and a perfect balance of little self-contained quirky stories each episode with an overarching bigger plot/mystery mostly just hinted at. It's simplicity with little wink wink moments promising a grand finale is what made it so fantastic. Then came season 2, which had itsAbsolutely fell in love with the show after finishing season 1. It's simplicity with little wink wink moments promising a grand finale is what made it so fantastic. Then came season 2, which had its highlights (Into the Bunker, Weirdmageddon pt 2.), but the underlying mystery goes from the backseat to the front bigtime. I was so tired of the whole overindulgant and convoluted plot with Bill and the Author throughout the second season. It felt like the writers were so concentrated on creating a "grand" and "epic" plot, one-upping the previous, full of (stupid and uninteresting) twists and turns that they completely forgot about developing the characters. *cough* Mass Effect 3 *cough* By the end of the show they are pretty much back to where they started and at times they even are written completely out of their personality (Stan and Mabel mainly who are kinda hard to like at times during the 2nd season). Nevertheless Gravity Falls is a delightful show with a wonderful first season (9/10) and a second (7/10) that tries to be more than it could or really should be. Expand

Gravity Falls is a beautiful story about family and childhood. Unlike most cartoons, it has a great, "long term" plot, filled with mystery, suspense and surprises, with a great finale. It also has a lot of clever (and sometimes dark) humor, well developed multidimensional characters, beautiful art, a catchy theme song, and cryptograms with fun hidden messages.

What's most surprising about this show is it's emotional depth. Set in just one summer, and with only 40 episodes, as the show gets closer to its end, the protagonists (twins Dipper and Mabel) realize that childhood comes to an end, and face fears and hopes about their future. All this builds up to an emotional conclusion where a tearful viewer accepts that Dipper and Mabel's story also has to come to an end.

The show has a rich lore made up by books and other canon sources, powered by Alex Hirsch's creativity and close relation to the fandom, that can give you hours of additional fun.

Suitable for teens and adults. Any past time is supposed to have been better, but I believe this show is better than anything I saw in my childhood.

Gravity Falls is still my all time favorite animated show and one of my top 5 favorite shows of all time. That it started well and gradually lowered the level
I think he messed things up even in the final episodes. I cannot say I liked it very much, but I cannot deny that it is a good animated series.

The greatest cartoon of all time. It starts and ends perfectly. There's filler at times, but the filler doesn't even really bother me. It just means that I get to spend more time with these wacky characters in this crazy world called Gravity Falls.
