Even the professional reviewers avoid this show. ONE review again? I watched the one where they got high and it's embarrassingly bad. I can't believe people are being paid for this.

Grace and Frankie gets better with every season and Season 5 is no exception. The quirkiness is still there and the writing and direction are great for a sitcom. Some episodes shine more than others, the one where Frankie and Robert get high is great. I feel that they've found a nice balance of showing more of Grace and Frankie and less of the kids, even while showing their subarcs.

Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are true legends. Their scenes together justify watching Grace and Frankie despite all the other faults the series might have.

For as much as the permanent roommate dynamic kept the show in dramatic stasis for most of Season 5, it also means Kauffman and her writing team will have to come up with a way to explore how a romantic couple and a platonic friend can live together in harmony; how a friendship and a romance can blossom under the same roof. It’s not the edgiest concept, but the value of friendship has been Kauffman’s field of study for the last three decades--how her views have developed should make for more great TV.
