Incredibly good show; it is all about getting old, the grief of letting go of the past, love and illusions, self-esteem and self-worth, one's place in this universe but with a pinch of salt and a lot of humor. Watching this show makes me happy. Yes, the characters are wealthy and have beautiful sea-side houses but the story works and the acting is fun and moving. I highly recommend this show.

The season was a little slow getting started, but WOW every episode delivered a different and insightful look at a variety of issues relating to the process of aging. Some episodes are very sad. I was hesitant at first but I dove in to this pool and now love this show and have just binge-watched the second season. Great acting, story-line, and writing. It's very funny, witty, relevant. The main actors are all in their seventies playing like-aged characters. And the ever beautiful Jane is a great Abbott to handsome Lily's Costello. Thanks, Netflix. Expand

Fonda and Tomlin have wonderful chemistry and demonstrate what real professionals can do with a great script. Superb supporting cast. Hurry up season 3!

I love this show and am surprised by the critics reviews. I'm in a business group with women that range in age of 20s - 60s and someone brought up this show during casual conversation one day. So many women in the group chimed in on how much they love this show so I know I'm not alone in my feelings.

What I find special about this show is the sincerity. So many shows are steeped in sarcasm, irony, or just mean spiritedness so this makes Grace and Frankie a special gem. Its refreshing to watch a show like this.
The cast works so well together. Its just fun to see such gifted actors get a chance to really shine in a show that's so enjoyable.
I wish there were more shows like this. Hopefully with the emergence of Netflix and Amazon produced shows there will be.

That balance of gimmicky and profound undulates throughout the season. ... But the cuckoo is stitched together by the heft of Fonda and Tomlin’s performances and the intimacy of the writing when the show manages to take a step back and give the characters a beat for self-analysis.

Grace and Frankie might be tripping and stumbling down the path of their golden years, but at least Grace and Frankie itself is showing some sense of gracefully aged--if predictably presented--wisdom.

Grace and Frankie has become, therefore, a show about letting go of grudges, being more accepting, and enjoying life--all very good sentiments that surface rarely in most other current sitcoms. Still, there’s the matter of actually being funny, which the show is, most of the time, not. At its worst, G&F goes for that most obvious of current sitcom clichés.
