One of the best shows on TV. Absolutely phenomenal acting by a star cast...

The best season of the show. They've finally finished with the conspiracy story-line which was the last thing that kept the show sort of grounded. Now they've embraced the grotesque campiness which has led to some delightfully demented story-lines, not to mention some great visuals. (This might be the best looking show for network television.)

This season improves on the ones preceding

This season improves on the ones preceding it by allowing the large cast more chances to interact and a variety of plotlines. Surprisingly, very few of the chances they took failed, but even when there was a scene that didn't work I'd be sure there soon be one that wowed me.

Also, this season might have one of the best selection of villains: Ras' al Ghul, Dr. Pyg, the Scarecrow, Sofia Falcone, Jerome, and a mystery villain I won't spoil. Alexander Siddig has been the best live action Ras' al Ghul, containing a smug charm that the others have lacked. Though, my favorite is Dr. Pyg. He's so theatrically demented.

As always, Gotham proves to be a really fun, really enjoyable show. The characters are just so wacky and wild that Gotham never loses it's charm. Gotham is the one show that never has a dull moment.

What makes this show a success is that there are so many great characters for the writers to play off from each week. Instead of focusing just on Jim Gordon or Bruce Wayne, now there are numerous good (and mostly) bad guys/gals that provide for interesting episodes.

This season was just as long as the others and it did felt chore like, but it presents the viewer with multiple antagonists, which keeps the interest of the general audience going until the end of the season. The acting was very respectful, and flawless even in emotional scenes as well. It gives characters more depth to see what they had to go through and who have they become. The factThis season was just as long as the others and it did felt chore like, but it presents the viewer with multiple antagonists, which keeps the interest of the general audience going until the end of the season. The acting was very respectful, and flawless even in emotional scenes as well. It gives characters more depth to see what they had to go through and who have they become. The fact that the director's cinematographic style was boring is made up by the fact of how he twisted and turned the plot around using all the characters and not just using one's point of view. Although this damages batman's real comic book accuracy, because some times it goes to far, and pushes an event to the distance where it didn't happen in the comics. This is the main fact holding back this serial being a lot better. Writing is boring and some times interesting, but the dark Gotham style humor was there, but sadly sometimes like misfire.
Overall this could have been an amazing season for this show but the faults barely let him have a "good" rating. Conclusion is missing and the cliffhanger strategy has become cliche which also doesn't help the serial.

Gotham takes far more risks in season four and becomes more adult focused, but it still has many moments of cheesy, over the top drama that hold it back from its full potential.

All in all, Gotham gives the impression that it’s living up to its potential with the premiere of its fourth season, so it’d better stick to the current pace if it hopes to do so.
