Following two solid seasons Good Girls felt like it got itself stuck in a bit of a rut in it’s third year. The main cast are all still great, but all too often the show felt like it was just spinning its wheels with arbitrary road blocks, and stupid decisions from characters, constantly being thrown in the way to prevent the plot moving forward in any significant way. The aforementioned cast, and dark sense of humour, do keep things watchable but the writers really need to come up with a few surprises in season four if it’s going to keep me engaged.

Matthew Lillard, Isaiah Stannard, Noureen DeWulf, Charlyne Yi, and Lidya Jewett gave excellent supporting performances. The writing has been just as out there and funny as always but I wish there had been more excitement this season. The makeup and hairstyling was superb especially on Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Lidya Jewett, and Noureen DeWulf. The turned tables may make it harder for these women to sleep at night, but it still makes for damn good TV.
