I have seen every episode of Boy Meets World.

I have watched all 7 episodes of Girl Meets World, and I can say with certainty that I will watch every single episode of this as well.

    Thank you Disney!

The story deepens with each episode and each character evolves. I was a skeptic at first, but I do have faith in this show, and I am definitely tuning in to this telling-of-age story, one so similar yet so different, to the one we all knew and loved. Expand

BMW started off as a story about kids and became a story about a first love that becomes true love. Who can't relate to Cory and Topanga's journey? GMW has gotten off to a great continuation of the story. The theme song is really good. The scripts touch our heart just like the original show. I look forward to many more episodes. It will be a tricky balance. I know GMW isn't about Cory and Topanga anymore, but I do hope they can work some of that magic into this show. It's hard to believe I'm enjoying a grown adult enjoying a Disney show, but that is the case. Very good show. Expand

This show is a really good show. I have not seen BMW but I'm sure it's just as good or even better. The show is about 2 girls who have just started middle school and their life through middle school and the problems they will face.

I love it. It captures the spirit of BMW. Like that series this one allows the kids to discover truth and how the "world" works guided and pointed by their parents. It feels good all the way through.

And while the line "Well done, Mr. Matthews," is poignant, what is left unsaid, though it is very apropos, "Well done, Ms. Matthews."

It is important to remember you cannot rate an ENTIRE season based on one pilot. I still enjoyed this pilot, and it definitely lives up to the original. Also, I have seen the next episode on the watch disney app, and it was even better than the first. So I will stick around, because it is good, even though it is not a BMW remake, it is its own series that WILL stand on its own.

Even for a kids' show, Girl Meets World turns out to be ridiculously cheesy, contrived, and unrealistic. The messages it gives may be the most positive aspect of the show that has garnered it praise to begin with, but the delivery of the message is what falls completely flat. The young characters are unrealistic in that they dress unlike their age (13/14 year olds wearing heeled boots? Please) and act as though they were "mature". The realistic part of Boy Meets World is that Corey was immature and grew to be mature with the lessons he learned, whereas these girls annoyingly self-teach themselves by saying the lesson they learned, making it all the more corny and contrived. And then these same girls are incredibly disrespectful to Corey, Riley's father, and act disrespectful in his classroom, making him appear as an incompetent teacher. The only funny part is that Farkle seems to be the only character that realizes Corey doesn't really teach but revolves his classroom around two students, which is silly and unprofessional. Expand

"Girl Meets World" is unabashedly cheesy and not as good as its predecessor, but it's uniquely smarter than the Disney Channel shows that are airing today. In other words, it's decent, but it has the ability to become something amazing in the future.

The show was VERY reminiscent of BOY MEETS WORLD's EARLY YEARS! I loved the show "Boy Meets World" when I was a kid. This equivalent show "Girl Meets World" is not what I was expecting. Just like Disney would portray it as cheesy, sappy, and stupid. Some Easter Eggs in the show referring to "Boy Meets World" is "Ok". But since the show is made by Disney, I believe it will have no potential, lack of story, and no secret sexual jokes as I enjoyed in the series "Boy Meets World". The good thing about the show, is that Mr. Feeny appeared. I do have to give credit to the show, because its the first episode and its just letting us know who the rest of the characters are. In conclusion, -Bad Things, Not enough Topanga, No sexual jokes(Or funny jokes), horrible acting, horrible script, made by Disney. -Good Things,Mr.Feeny returning. An embarrassingly high number of children in the US come to school and go to bed hungry. Child hunger is a serious matter.
First episode, school cafeteria scene , 3 children get a tray , fill it with food , talk for a while, and dispose of the food untouched.

Are you serious... This is not 1950.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not sure what to make of GMW. I mean, compared to the now airing Disney shows, it's definitely one of the best. However, growing up watching BMW and falling in love with every single episode and every single line, I believe that GMW is just not good enough. The series, I believe, is a bit cheesy and the characters try too hard. I don't think there ever will be another Disney series as good as Boy Meets World. However, it is quite refreshing to see a Disney show, nowadays, that doesn't involve dancers and singers. Expand

When I first heard about a sequel to BMW coming to Disney Channel, like many others I had my concerns. I was afraid that it would follow too close to the current pattern of live Disney Channel Shows which personally have not always been my cup of tea, mostly due to less-than-par writing, over-the-top characters serving as weak role models and usually unappealing plot lines. I may be an adult and I know these shows are not meant for me, but I know damn well they can do way better with their shows and this is where I feel that GMW steps in, or at least is on its way to.

I have watched every episode thus far and have made a few conclusions; the first is that this is a great cast. Not just the return of Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, but the kids are incredibly likeable and while they do mirror their predecessors, they are able to stand alone and don't feel like carbon copies. Rowan and Sabrina prove to have a great kinship that puts the bonds on other Disney Channel shows to shame. Is it cheesy and crazy at times? Of course, so was BMW, which I can appreciate and anyone who watched BMW from the first season would see that too.

Now the one downside that I feel about GMW is how it is so "moral-driven." Now, it's common knowledge that good kids shows will try to make the viewer learn a lesson and great kids shows can do it in a way that is smart and subtle. GMW ain't subtle. It has gotten better since the pilot episode, but the writers need to trust in their audience that they will understand what is going on without it being explained right at the beginning of the episode and then over and over again within the half-hour time span. It makes the characters seem so self-aware of the issue that they will address in each episode that it doesn't come off as natural. It's clear that the writers are trying so hard when in reality they don't have to. People may try to chalk that up to the acting, but really if the dialogue was written with less exposition in mind and allow the characters to speak a little more in the way real kids would, then I think that GMW could be the triumphant and worthy successor that we have all been waiting for.

I do hope that with time, GMW will find its own place in the world like BMW did because it truly has the capacity to be great.

Some of the jokes and "cute" moments are forced and some of the writting needs to improve, but that's the worst thing I can say about "Girl meets World". This show is good, not only as a "Boy meets World" sequel but as a show on it's own.
The new characters are engaging and most of the episodes mix perfectly heartfelt drama and comedy.

Finally it ends with some big teaching moment that was blown up a lot bigger than it should have been. There is little comedy and the acting is over the top like watching a bad school play where everyone over acts. Perfect for the target audience, complex lessons that are treated in a simple, gentle way so tweens will catch them right away. I'm in love with the characters, I believe you can realte to them. Also, some quotes are just unforgettable "In order for a living organism to thrive, it needs to be allowed to grow" just to quote one of them.

The only reason I'm not giving it a 10, is that I believe it could have developed into such a great, mature series before it's cancellation. And while that's not totally the issue, I feel like it made the writters rushed some relationships and moments, making the last season a little bit too forced from time to time.
