    After waiting for the reviews to roll in I'm shocked by it's current user rating of 6.9. I've always trusted the general median of opinion, but my faith in humanity is failing. There has clearly been a grievous error in judgement here. Get Shorty is far beyond just-above mediocre. It has unique characters that develop brilliantly. Gritty and humbled, Miles character has under-tonesAfter waiting for the reviews to roll in I'm shocked by it's current user rating of 6.9. It has unique characters that develop brilliantly. Gritty and humbled, Miles character has under-tones of real life gangster with a sense of humor. The first 4 episodes where littered with LOL moments. Rick being the cautious risk taker works well to create interesting character chemistry. The slow long burn of a light bloom only further enhances the beauty that can be found in Get Shorty. This is a show that has been crafted by professionals and could easily be lost on a more simple mind. This is probably one of the best shows of 2017. It's exciting, interesting, fun, and isn't tired like some shows (Halt and Catch Fire) loosing their shine. I'm enthralled and can't wait for the next episode.… Expand

    One of the best shows I've seen in years, seriously. Funny and dark and addictive. I've seen first 5 and they're all crazy good. I'm a Chris O'Dowd fan and this is actually his best work. Ray Romano here is unlike anything I've seen him do before... Whole cast is great. Writing is as sharp as it gets.

    I thought i wouldnt like the show, the plot didnt sound so good but after seen some good critic reviews, I needed to watch at least one episode and seriously, it is incredible, great cast (chris and ray are perfect in their roles), the story wasnt slowly moving, it has funny bits, action, drama ... It is great and if you like shows with great cast and writing, you should watch.

    An involving story that I want to see through to the end, lighthearted but punctuated with sudden violence. People to root for, people to hate, and people who you haven't quite made your mind about yet.

    What's not to love? So far (episode 4) this is quality TV.

    Seriously funny! I found myself laughing out loud which rarely happens - LOL. The cast is tremendous. If unlikely twists involving trysts, Mormons & cartel movie buffs is your bag, then Get Shorty is your next addiction.

    Yes! Get Shorty came from out of nowhere and made any thinking-person's top 10 shows for 2017. Great original characters, a fast-moving plot, nice photography; plus plenty of sex, drugs and violence. If they can keep up this quality I'm buying a Ricky lunchbox.

Let me tell you something about Elmore Leonard, not the cartoonish Get Shorty of '95, or the slightly more realistic & down to earth Out of Sight of '98, Elmore Leonard crime fiction is punch you in the nose leave you bleeding GRIT, with a capital G. It's humorous, there's a hero character, but he always comes from the place, on the underside of the bridge on the other side ofGritty. Let me tell you something about Elmore Leonard, not the cartoonish Get Shorty of '95, or the slightly more realistic & down to earth Out of Sight of '98, Elmore Leonard crime fiction is punch you in the nose leave you bleeding GRIT, with a capital G. It's humorous, there's a hero character, but he always comes from the place, on the underside of the bridge on the other side of the tracks with people you don't want to know that you don't ever want to find yourself in. This is a fantastic staging of Leonards work, IMHO. Through the first 3 eps, wished they were all released on the same day like NETFLIX so I could power through them all. This is great TV.… Expand

    tried really hard to get through episode 2...couldn't do it. Has none of the humor or charm of the original...agonizingly tortoise paced, not at all funny and has the charm of week old wet socks...do not understand the accolades at all

    As a hangdog hitman and a long-suffering auteur, O’Dowd and Romano complement each other. Is Hollywood more cutthroat than a drug empire? This series might have something to say about that. Epix’s Get Shorty is worth having.
