It has unforgettable characters, deep lore and remarkable story lines. For the lore / world building: You will have good original characters mixed with stories about Magic, Avalon, King Arthur, Mac Beth, Oberon, Odin, the Illuminati and different myths from all around the world. They created an amazing world and add more and more lore, characters, history and character development in each / during seasons. The series handles also matured themes like racism, injustice, corruption and conflicts about different believes. The original characters are so good I have to mention at least some of them. Lets start with the villains: There is David Xanathos the main antagonist. He is the master of scheming and plotting. He is so good that the trope Xanathos gambit was named after him (Xanathos gambit is a plan / plot that is so carefully planned that even when the main goal is not archived you will still get benefits from each outcome). There is Mac Beth who is a man of honor. He will never betray his code of honor or break his word but still has evil plans and will fool you if you are not careful. There is a character I will not name (No not Voldemort ;-) because of spoilers. I hesitate to name her a villain (She is evil with no doubt but if you have walked in her shoes you cant blame her). She hates mankind but it is deserved because she has seen racism and genocide attempts against her people. Then there are the heroes. There is Goliath. An archetype of the noble stoic hero. He is goodhearted but was raised in a way that he cannot show emotions. Then there is Elisa a police officer and the connection for the Gargoyles to the human world (They were cursed to stone for 1000 years and are out of touch with mankind / modern times). She is a strong female character you can relate to even before this was a thing. Then there are the other gargoyles. Each one has their own character and development. This is also true for the side characters. You will often be amazed about the character development and revelations. My favorite is Xanathos right hand man. About the story: The story lines were amazing and never fail to deliver. I will not spoil here because it lessens the experience but I will praise how the character development is included in the story line. There is no out of character moment and all developments for the heroes and villains are relatable. My only complaint is that season 3 is not as good as the others but still be an 8 /10. It is just weaker in comparison to season 1 and 2. Overall there was never a series from Disney with this much atmosphere deep lore and remarkable / beloved characters. Expand
