Non stop action. Exciting with every twist and turn. Super bloody but just terrific adrenaline filled drama.

Considering that it was created by Gareth Evans, who’s best known for the brutally violent The Raid movies, this should be expected. However, there’s more than one cruel but inventive clash in each episode. It also has a compelling plot: After the head of the city’s main criminal organization is murdered, it sparks a manhunt for his killer, while creating conflicts with their rival partners. In good British fashion, there’s a labyrinth of relationships and secret alliances to add depth to the storytelling. It’s not for the squeamish, but the involving drama is complemented by an excellent cast. (9 one-hour episodes with a 2nd season already announced) Expand

Each episode feels slow and disjointed in film style. Speaking of film style, you can tell this was directed by the same director as The Raid. Scenes are unnecessarily shot in an action style when. Nothing's really going on. The fight choreography is in the vein of a John Wick film, but totally implausible. For being seasoned gangsters and cops, characters make incredibly stupid decisions that lead to these fights. They're also every cliche you could cram in to a drama. Overall, you could do worse than Gangs of London, but you could also do much better. Films like Layer Cake, The Gentleman, or The Sweeney would be more worth your time Expand

A brilliant, brutal and very entertaining show. Action scenes are superbly choreographed and extremely brutal. 9/10, AMAZING!

Fans of Gareth Evans' extraordinary 'Raid' films will not be disappointed - the action is brilliantly choreographed and shot (Evans shot most of the action, and a couple of episodes), and the characters are well rendered albeit in broad strokes. An operatic update of the gang family narrative for the 21st century, 'Gangs of London' goes heavy on subtext - everything is a shell. Business, politics and ultimately family are revealed as fronts for predators pursuing profit at any cost. Good stuff. Expand

Great series ruined by a very very bad episode 6. The story lost all its momentum and power.
