For season 1 I watched it as it aired but did not read the book first and I ended up doing the same thing for this season as well since seeing it play out on television without knowing the book allowed me to wonder where things would go. Ultimately I read the second book after the second season had its finale and am now planning to do it again for season 3.

    While season 1 was an introduction to characters that I loved and others that I loved to hate season 2 brings in new characters that I both loved and others that I loved to hate while still focusing on those from before. In addition it presents some of those characters that you love to hate in a new way, and presents some of those loved characters with opportunities to prove why you love them so much. Plus.....dragons. Seriously, dragons on cable tv.

    As the series continues I also highly enjoy the fact that we are not stuck at the same old locations as before, obviously the capitol will remain a relevant location but Winterfell becomes less important to us while the characters venturing out from Winterfell become more important to us. Even the north, north of the wall that is, becomes something we want to see more of and the season ends with a scene that lets you know eventually some action will be happening in hopefully a pretty epic way. And Peter Dinklage remains awesome, even sticks it to the little self absorbed idiotic demon king. There is even a scene that lets you know the false king's body guard is human, sort of, and you want to see what this dude is now capable of too. Maybe he will do something to redeem himself at a later time? Also, dragons.

    It is rare that I look forward to a television show these days with so many terrible things airing and all the good shows being canceled after maybe a season or two that i hope HBO allows this to continue to whatever conclusion George R.R. Martin has. After both Rome and Deadwood (both were shows I loved) were canceled due to contracts and high production costs (not low ratings as some people seem to think), I really want Game of Thrones to see its conclusion in a way that doesn't have to do with funding. While I am sure the production costs are not exactly low for this show I really hope it manages to make it.    … Expand

    It's amazing that after two seasons, this show is still able to deliver an amazing episode after another. The plot is so complex with so many details, yet coherent. The characters are very rich and deep, and the actors and actresses playing them are top-notch. Twists and turns, emotionally moving scenes, brutal and sometimes sadistic scenes, this show has it all. Fantastic.

    The second season continues to be a well-written and completely absorbing medieval/fantasy series. The majority of this season does seem to take one a somewhat slower pace, pushing off a lot of the conflicts until the later seasons, but it's still not afraid to kill off a big character when you least expect it and even features a big battle.     This is an amazing show with lots of character development, story development, action, drama, suspense, drama, romance and fantasy. There are a colorful cast of characters in this series. Meshes well between medieval type of setting with some modern style themes (such as language). There is some nudity and sexual scenes but not that much.     Easily the best show on TV (aside from The Walking Dead but it seems the writers are jumping the shark on that one) and if you can find a better series in the history of HBO cable TV I'd love for you to show me. The only reason I can see people giving this series bad ratings is the constant threat follow through with ending major characters lives.     Season 2 starts off terribly slow and it takes about half of the season for things to really get going but by the end of it, I couldn't wait for season 2 to start. The addition of Stannis, who is a favourite character of mine, works wonders and the battle of Blackwater Bay remains one of the best the show has ever done.

    Some moments of season 2 are among the best I've ever seen on TV. Manages to keep, and sometimes even improve, on the incredible quality of season 1. My personal must-buy bluerays at the moment

    Another great season of Game of Thrones. This season really managed to buff out some of the rough parts of the first season. The only major complaint is the fact that this season doesn't follow the books as well but the changes that are made to the story make for much better stories for the screen so even that really isn't a problem.

After the death of King Ned (my favorite character) i feel as if we were left with characters that i personally didn't like, or found to **** also i wish there was more Jon Snow. But hey, the faults are overplayed by the positives. Brilliant acting, brilliant cinematography, griping action, gripping conflictI think my overall problem with season 2 of Game Of Thrones was the characters. New characters are introduced, and there are moments of awe here and there, but from the three seasons so far, it is definitely the weakest.     I don't think this season was as great as season one. "Blackwater" might be the best episode of the entire series, but I don't think the rest was quite up to the standard seen in season 1 and later season 3. And the book changes that bothered me most were in this season. I understand the need for some changes, but this season took it too far.     Having just watched ep 9, I truly feel this series gets it just right. Acting, production values, plot, intrigue are all in line with the feel and tone of the book, but a little low than season 1

In season 2 the conspiracy and quest for power continue in great form. We learn more about the troubled, ruthless characters within a drama worthy of critical acclaim.     When people start writing the characters before anything else, and drive the story from there; only then will we get writing as captivating as the books from A Song of Ice and Fire. Writers have a lot to learn, from the series and from the books. Watch it for pleasure, and if you can, take in how well everything was built.

    This show is absolutely everything I wanted in a TV series for such a very long time. Absolutely amazing photography & cinematography, brilliant music & audio plus the amazing actors and crew which build one hell of a story to tell. The 3 seasons of    Game of Thrones was something I frowned upon at first, friends told me what it was and I kind of shrugged it off. Biggest mistake ever.

    This show is absolutely everything I wanted in a TV series for such a very long time. The 3 seasons of this so far have kept me gripped and interested the entire journey, and the fourth season is only just around the corner now!

    My impressions of the first season were mixed and it really was overrated. This second is no exception. The first five episodes are pretty much the same; we get even more character introductions and a well written story. The story got much build-ups, our characters keeps planning and discussing events. The first five episodes are pretty much the same; we get even more character introductions and a well written story. The story got much build-ups, our characters keeps planning and discussing events. That’s both a problem and a unique aspect of Game of Thrones. It’s a great thing because we can at a greater scale understand why certain events come to pass, and why our characters behave as they do. We also get closer to them and when the show really do pay off; we begin to love the show. I totally agree on that matter, but all the slow and less entertaining dialogs and build-ups are so boring. I admire that GoT really is something unique, but there’re no action-sequences!

    The first half is as I mentioned very much alike as the first season; nothing really big does happen, but it got its character developments (and introductions). The lack of action is very outspread. I was a bit disappointed, because there were some signs of great action here and there, we see men preparing for battle, but at some point in the first half of the season they skip showing that, and continue after the battle; so annoying and depressing!

    The whole season is very similar with the first; much build-ups and boring dialogs, but there are some unexpected events and the characters are the one strong aspect with the show! The season finale is much better than in the first season; it’s intense, bloody, realistic and much unique amount of action exists (finally!). Another aspect is the actors; yes they are all stunning, but Richard Madden is hard to take serious as an actor (doesn’t fit the role).

    This second continuation of the overrated show Game of Thrones is both much more action-packed, but even more slow than its predecessor. The slow but still interesting story still defines the show but nothing big really happens. Too much preparing storylines makes the show slow and boring. But the characters and the big and great final episodes made it a bit greater than the first season.

    Relatable characters, unique (but low amount of) action, awesome title sequence and a powerful storytelling is still the only aspects that’s great. But I did expect much more, because we had one whole season of nothing, and here it is, another season of more nothing! My overall rating for each episode is 6.48/10.

    A tremendous follow up to the first season, and more of Peter Dinklage is like a cherry on top, except for those who don't like cherries, but you'll still love him anyway. The whole cast in enticing, the writing probably the best I've seen in a fantasy, and the effects are astounding. It's a show that'll never tire.

    Everybody already stated why this show is amazing, but what i love about it is how many times i can rewatch the episodes and still feel the same was as the first time i watch it.. episode "blackwater" is my favorite tv episode of all time.. and i watched it over 20 times lol

    Season 2 of Game of Thrones spawns more locations, subplots and characters. While it suffers from juggling too much, it nevertheless retains the storytelling craft of the first season to create a great fantasy show for adults.

    This season is still consistently good all the way through, but i feel it lacks in memorable scenes. That doesn't mean this season is bad, it's still a great watch! Also comes with one of the most beautiful tv and film has seen to date! Still enough twists from the book to keep interesting for readers of the book also!

I didn't like season 1 as much as other people but this season of Game of Thrones was spectacular and made me realize that Game of thrones is the best tv show ever made.     Sin duda, la mejor temporada hasta ahora. Superó a la primera pero para mi aun no ha sido superada ni por la tercera (que fue mas lenta) ni por la cuarta. Aquí comenzaron los malos rollos, las batallas importantes y las relaciones amor/odio. El capítulo de la Batalla del Aguasnegras es uno de los mejores de toda la serie.

    The show keeps getting better and better. After I finished Breaking Bad, I instantly started watching GoT and am amazed of the quality! Design, costumes, actors are just awesome and very, very, very good! I enjoy this show soo much and love the plot so far. Really, everyone should try watch this show!     Although I hate some actions of the characters and in general some things that happen but the producers are of course not able to change them, because of the books.

    By now, the old characters have well and truly come into their own and we know who to root for and who we want to fail. The new characters are also well acted too, and we have plenty more to ponder in their personalities and ambitions.
    Unfortunately, this can also be a little frustrating a times, especially early on in the series when we are introduced to them, which means that the story often slows down considerably; there is perhaps less of a feeling of underlying tension and excitement in this series than in the last. But when things do go off in the final few episodes, boy do they go off!
    The awesome battle of blackwater episode is one of the finest in the show's history - truly epic and awesome, as is the final episode, when several plot lines reach their dramatic conclusion. Overall, a fine continuation of the story.    … Expand

    2 sezon trzyma poziom poprzedniego. Dekoracje, prowadzenie historii, muzyka oraz gra aktorska są na najwyższym poziomie. Wadami znowu są nie potrzebne w niektórych momentach sceny erotyczne. Warto zobaczyć choćby dla wielkiej bitwy pod koniec sezonu.

    The show takes off where season 1 ended, naturally evolving the storyline and the characters while maintaining the intense and extreme quality of the production values. On top of this, a bunch of new, interesting, well-acted characters are introduced to the storyline, alongside new plots. The writing is fantastic and while some slow parts in the season existed, it was very, very good.

    Game of Thrones is the best series in TV. The story is just astounding and addicting. If you see the first episode then you become a fan right away. Each and every single one of characters have a rich personality and amazing acting abilities.

    Los personajes de esta serie son lo mejor, realmente te encariñas con ellos y perderlos causa una tristeza real, si bien algunos momentos culminantes me parecieron algo forzados, esta temporada es increible.

    Game of Thrones in the second season keeps pretty much everything that was initiated in the previous season, it keeps the big plot that was presented to us before, without expanding the universe very much, but concluding some parts with some characters and developing them and giving more personality to them. The first season was about introducing almost everything to us, get us to knowGame of Thrones in the second season keeps pretty much everything that was initiated in the previous season, it keeps the big plot that was presented to us before, without expanding the universe very much, but concluding some parts with some characters and developing them and giving more personality to them. The first season was about introducing almost everything to us, get us to know where we were and how that world works, and they did it very well, in this one they took those already introduced things and go beyond them, so we saw further the wall, and get to know a little about what was there, get to know new houses in westeros, and more things. The focus was to go further on in what was already presented, but they also presented some new things, in this one they talked and showed a more about the religion aspect, making we understand a little more about it, about their gods and how the population sees them, the rivalry between the houses in a religion aspect. They also came with the introduction of magic, they demonstrated a mystic side of the world, wich was a nice expansion, even that somethings realy felt out of place, wich i hope they talk a little more about the god of fire next season and explain somethings, but mainly it worked out in another moments.
    In this season they were able to make me feel really distressed in some moments and cheering strong for some characters in some moments, so as maked me feel hate for some characters. I love how they are not afraid to give a personality to a character, giving him a story and making him charismatic for after that just killing the character, making the situations have burden, that is essential and it is a high aspect that why this show is great.
    Much about this is in the acting. Peter Dinklage stills doing an outstanding job, he can be sarcastic and demonstrate his intelligence even in the way that he speaks, also can pass his fear and distressed in some situations with his expressions. Lena Headey just confirmed that she was the perfect cast, she can be evil and selfish, but in this season the script gave her more layers, and show that she also can truly love someone, and the actress could do a perfect job in this. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was actually very funny in this season, the way that he speaks is always very calm and confident, he did a good job. Emilia Clarke was certain in her attitudes, she could be a mother that would protect her sons no matter what and even being a little reckless in some moments, she could pass confident in her voice, even that it didn't convinced me 100% of the time, it was a good job. Charles Dance was that kind of guy that every time he opened his mouth you would just shut up and hear everything that he had to, he convinced as a wise man, so as a dangerous one, and without being overacting and screaming, just talking with calm, he convinced me in each moment that he was all of that, and also a great leader. Jack Gleeson also convinced me as a completely spoiled boy, that think that he can do anything but when things don't go his way he is scary, he did a very good job. There are so many actors that it is complicated to talk about each one, but overall they all did a pretty good job.
    One thing that i complained in the season 1, was that the acting normally was cutted out, they prepare everything and then they cut to when it is over, this also happens here, but there is a battle that it is really shown and it was mostly very good, the strategy that was came up was great, just the fighting moments in close battle that i just not sure if they are in their best yet but it was a step.
    A lot of characters had some journey in this one, some of them didn't felt that they move from some and get somewhere, it felt that was a little stagnant for so much time without doing much, i'm talking about Robb journey. Daenerys jounrey also didn't convinced me a lot in what she was doing, it maked sense, but for me, it didn't moved she that much. Theon one was fantastic, i completely bough why he was doing that, and i could feel his lack of direction and how lost he really was on his had, wich was also a great job of the acotr Alfie Allen.
    The new characters that was introduced was a really highpoint, a mysterious guy that got me really interested in his story and a big and poweful knight woman, that was so badass were the ones who called me the most.
    The story has some flaws, like a character that it is in one place at the end of episode 9 and then he just appears in another place out of nowhere, wich i believe that it was more of that mystic side that they introduced, but didn't explained or show a lot, but it was strange.
    They had some breathtaking ending in some episodes, and a first exhibition of "The Rains of Castamere", wich was perfectly done in the best moment. This show is getting better and better, making their universe being more palpable in each episode.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game of Thrones is still my 2nd favorite show and I loved this season even more than the first. The lead ensemble cast were outstanding especially Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Charles Dance, Sophie Turner, Alfie Allen, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Michelle Fairley, John Bradley, and Sibel Kekilli. Gwendoline Christie, Stephen Dillane, Carice van Houton, Natalia Tena, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Rose Leslie, Gemma Whelan, Conleth Hill, Aidan Gillen, and Iain Glen also gave fantastic performances. The writing and storytelling are even more remarkable this season. The visual effects were more excellent this season especially the wildfire explosion, the baby dragons, and the shadow demon that killed Renly Baratheon. The makeup is still great especially all of the stab and cut wounds. The outfits and costumes were terrific especially the blue and gold dress the Emilia Clarke wore as Daenerys and the lavender dress that Sophie Turner wore as Sansa. The fighting and battle scenes were very well executed and choreographed. All of the sets and scenery are just remarkable. The music and score were great just like last season especially the song The Rains of Castamere featured in the end credits of episode nine. Also the White Walkers in the last scene of the season was so cool and creepy, I loved it. Definitely another A+ season.… Expand

The introduction of Tywin Lannister as a character added a whole new dynamic. Beyond the wall, Ygritte and Jon had great chemistry. Daenerys' time at Qarth was intense and her murder spree was legendary. Season 2 continued to make this show one of my favorite shows ever.… Expand

    This show is awesome. I am a big fan of the books and the adaptation is really perfect, actually better than i thought it could be. The cast is just perfect, The young actors are really good (Maisie Williams!), Peter Dinklage is perfect for his character, so are Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey

    A small masterpiece the second season of Game of Thrones that surpasses the previous hands down. Let's finally see what's really beyond the Wall and episode 2x09 "Blackwater" is among the most beautiful serial productions I have memory of.

    Is Game of Thrones one of the great HBO series? It's too early to tell, though judged purely as an immense yet improbably graceful narrative machine, I'd have to say yes.
