Having not read the books, I was thoroughly surprised by the series and found myself enjoying it so far immensely. The show is good because the original author retains control, a "realistic" element runs strong and the backgrounds and extras are adequately fleshed out. Can't wait for more. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game of Thrones is my favorite HBO show, my favorite new show of 2011, my favorite drama show, and my 2nd favorite show of all time. The storytelling and the writing are excellent. The acting is stupendous especially from Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Sean Bean, Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Michelle Fairley, Mark Addy, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aidan Gillen, Lena Headey, Iain Glen, and Sophie Turner. The supporting performances from John Bradley, Conleth Hill, Jason Momoa, and Sibel Kekilli was also great. The sets and scenery were terrific, I loved have authentic and real all of the areas looked. The costumes and props were fantastic especially all of the armour, all of the weapons, and the Iron Throne. The visual effects and makeup effects were impressive especially the cut and stab wounds throughout the show and the baby dragons in the season finale. The last scene in the season finale was awesome, I loved it so much, the baby dragons are so cool and cute. I also loved the opening theme and all of Ramin Djawadi's music that was in this season, the music was great. A+ for this season. Expand

Each episode has so many surprises and I am always on the edge of my seat because I don't know which character is going to be killed next. The first season of Game of Thrones was great. I even cried when Ned Stark died. Danearys stepping on the pyre is one of the coolest moments in cinematic history. Every character and every episode is amazing, Expand

A friend of mine recommended me to watch this series which I started watching in 2017. Seriously it's the best series I have ever watched. The story line and it's matching CGI....no words to describe them. EPIC.

This movie series is superb! I can not recommend it enough to friends and family members. The world building is well thought out. The drama and politics of this show always keep you on your toe. So, who's going to die next? Tune in next time to find out! It really is an amazing show. I have nothing but praises for it. Go watch it!

Game of Thrones is one of the most well-developed TV series in history. The wide range of main characters and the ingenious development of their stories manage to delve into a fantastic world, the world of Westeros. What begins with a struggle for political control becomes a battle for the survival of the world. Highly recommended

Throughout the first episode I tried my best to remain disinterested in the show; however, as the minutes passed I became more and more intrigued and, as usual, the GOT producers were able to finish the first episode in a manner that all but forced me to immediately start the next episode. Each episode is very thoughtfully laid out in which viewers are consistently kept on their toes. In addition, the ability of producers to create a non-fiction feel to a fantasy show creates for a thrilling viewing experience. Expand

Best TV show I've ever come across, enticing me from start to finish. It breaks my heart to think that by April 2019 the last season for this show will commence and inevitably reach it's conclusion. Brilliant and worth a watch by anyone even if you think you won't like it. "When you play a Game of Thrones you win or you die".

    Most metal fantasy story ever.

Politic intrigue, back-stabbings, realistic and ugly medieval world, kingslayers, hookers, **** swords, and on top of all that, fookin dragons, magic and ancient ice zombies!

A primeira temporada de Game Of Thrones é um grande exemplo de como uma adaptação deve ser feita. Mesmo com um livro gigante, um universo vasto a apresentar, uma quantidade enorme de personagens a se desenvolver, essa seria dá conta.

However, as tends to be the case with HBO, the creators have managed to pull it off. Breathtaking scenery brings Westeros to life in ways I never could have imagined. The characters, perfectly cast, are just as endearing, charming, and terrifyingly deceptive as they are in the novels. Condensing GRRM's HUGE books into a doable HBO series, while also providing enough time for character development was a daunting task to say the least, but so far the characters are shining and I'm extremely impressed and excited. Well done, HBO. So very excited for this show!

i've never been a fan of this type of tv series or movies...but this one got me hooked pretty much in the first 3 episodes. the show didnt really waste any time for the stories to progress. its not all drama, you sense something is coming, and just when you thought the story would be somewhat predictable, it took a turn... for the better though.... it is one of the most entertaining show on tv.

I've seen the first seven episodes of Game of Thrones and I can safely say that it's the most entertaining series on television at the moment. Nudity aside, GoT is well constructed - from the sets/atmosphere, to the costumes/cast, it's a beautiful piece of television. I have not read the books so I cannot attest to how well the show parallels them, but I've wholly enjoyed watching. A grand soap opera of epic proportions, Game of Thrones can be a bit talky in some episodes, but the series draws a viewer in with well-defined characters and a multitude of simultaneous stories whose plot turns are generally unpredictable.
