    The beginning of a cult series, a shocking first season where everything believed to be impossible actually happens. The real strength of Game of Thrones is rooting for someone, believing that they will become an important character in the saga, only to be proven wrong when you are killed the very following episode.

    This show is awesome. I am a big fan of the books and the adaptation is really perfect, actually better than i thought it could be. The cast is just perfect, The young actors are really good (Maisie Williams!), Peter Dinklage is perfect for his character, so are Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey

    Admittedly having not being exposed to the source material prior makes this first installment very satisfying but even with the books for comparison this season is fascinating slow burn bookended with cliffhangers that sets up a detailed epic which could give Lord of the Rings a run for they're money

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game of Thrones is my favorite HBO show, my favorite new show of 2011, my favorite drama show, and my 2nd favorite show of all time. The storytelling and the writing are excellent. The acting is stupendous especially from Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Sean Bean, Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Michelle Fairley, Mark Addy, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aidan Gillen, Lena Headey, Iain Glen, and Sophie Turner. The supporting performances from John Bradley, Conleth Hill, Jason Momoa, and Sibel Kekilli was also great. The sets and scenery were terrific, I loved have authentic and real all of the areas looked. The costumes and props were fantastic especially all of the armour, all of the weapons, and the Iron Throne. The visual effects and makeup effects were impressive especially the cut and stab wounds throughout the show and the baby dragons in the season finale. The last scene in the season finale was awesome, I loved it so much, the baby dragons are so cool and cute. I also loved the opening theme and all of Ramin Djawadi's music that was in this season, the music was great. A+ for this season.… Expand

    I was never a book person, and I haven't read the book that the show's based on, but after watching the first season of Game Of Thrones, this is one of the best show on TV that HBO has to offer.

    Such a waste. That show could be best TV show ever. Instead, we get a poor write, disappointing story for 12 yo, brainwashed and full of clishes. So sad.

    Don't get me wrong, the first 3 seasons are great, 4 and 5 are meh, but then be ready for 3 seasons of pure disappointment culminating in a morbid feast of blank dialogues, cheap jump scare, bad CGI and deus ex machina ad nauseam.

    Best TV show I've ever come across, enticing me from start to finish. It breaks my heart to think that by April 2019 the last season for this show will commence and inevitably reach it's conclusion. Brilliant and worth a watch by anyone even if you think you won't like it. "When you play a Game of Thrones you win or you die".

    Game of Thrones is rightfully considered one of the best TV-series of all time, and it is easy to see why. While it starts off slow, and some character connections might be confusing at first, it quickly starts to pick up pace and delivers shock after shock, constantly subverting your expectations. The characters are all unique and either lovable or hate-able. Each "bad guy" has redeemableGame of Thrones is rightfully considered one of the best TV-series of all time, and it is easy to see why. While it starts off slow, and some character connections might be confusing at first, it quickly starts to pick up pace and delivers shock after shock, constantly subverting your expectations. The characters are all unique and either lovable or hate-able. Each "bad guy" has redeemable characteristics, and some characters you decide to hate by season 1, quickly become your favorites by the later seasons. There are some exceptions, however. Some characters are one-dimensionally evil, but in these cases, they are portrayed so well, that in a way, you still love seeing them on screen. All the characters have such different story-lines as well, and most characters never meet during the show. Overall Game of Thrones combines incredible characters and weaving story-lines with creative fantasy elements and a constant feeling your favorite character is never safe. The only downsides are that the latest seasons perhaps aren't as well thought out as the earlier ones, and some plot holes do become apparent, but they are redeemed by incredible battle sequences and still wonderful character interactions. Overall it's a must watch for any fan of fantasy or TV in general.

    I am not an avid TV watcher and was a huge skeptic of the GOT series; however, after years of convincing from nearly all my friends I finally pulled the trigger on an HBO account and started watching. Throughout the first episode I tried my best to remain disinterested in the show; however, as the minutes passed I became more and more intrigued and, as usual, the GOT producers were able toI am not an avid TV watcher and was a huge skeptic of the GOT series; however, after years of convincing from nearly all my friends I finally pulled the trigger on an HBO account and started watching. Throughout the first episode I tried my best to remain disinterested in the show; however, as the minutes passed I became more and more intrigued and, as usual, the GOT producers were able to finish the first episode in a manner that all but forced me to immediately start the next episode. Each episode is very thoughtfully laid out in which viewers are consistently kept on their toes. In addition, the ability of producers to create a non-fiction feel to a fantasy show creates for a thrilling viewing experience.… Expand

The wide range of main characters and the ingenious development of their stories manage to delve into a fantastic world, the world of Westeros. What begins with a struggle for political control becomes a battle for the survival of the world. Highly recommended

    First season - phenomenal.
    Second season - downgrade.
    Third to fifth season - can't recall specifics, many things without purpose. Getting boring. Season six - more lies, what a surprise. Season seven - only a setup. It's a shame that they brought down this once mighty "house". Not that the story is bad but in the end it's a lot of the same. I can skip a majority of an episode    First season - phenomenal.

The end-goal is interesting - still - but they made the way there a grind. Certainly not all of it but the longer it continued the harder I wanted it to end. This is not quality.

    If you made it till the last season you want to see it end, that's all. You will get excitement out of it but - everything before a "but" is bullsh... - i wished they would have gone with less.    … Expand

    Although, this series does have intense violence and may be triggering to more sensitive viewers. Regardless of the violence and constant murder I still very much enjoyed the series. The tv show Game of Thrones made by HBO is an adaptation from the books "A Song of Ice and Fire", written by George R. R. Martin.
    In a land where the summer can last years and the winter a whole life time, several kingdoms try to do their best, some trie to dominate the other, some wants revenge for the past, others just want to keep their house safe, each one witht their particularities. At the north there is a giant wall made from ice to protect the 7 kingdoms from wild people, and some non natural beans, that are considered myths by a lot of people. This first season also have a big political war for the throne, the one to sit in iron throne is the king of the 7 kingdoms.
    This Game of Thrones first season it is much about introducing the universe of Westeros, the situation is that the universe is giant, fanciful and very complex, the main thing were to introduce the policy of the land along with its dangers, wich i believe that they were
    successful, they were able to show the political organization, how it is to other become a king by right wich is hereditary, the government organization, showing they talking to achieve some goal or decision. And it also shows the corruption that exist in it, double agents, how no one can be 100% trusted and how the law works in the system.
    At the same time that they introduced the universe politically, they show to us the dangerous in the north of westeroes, beyond the wall, showing kind of what they are and what are there weakness, i'm talking about the white walkers, they not just show them, but some savages as well.
    The universe build up that they made here, in my opoinion was great, because even focusing and showing more the political parties and a little about the dangerous. Beyond that, they evolve their universe a lot, when some characters tell stories about the past, and this happens a lot, they talk about how life was in the past, which cretures that existed and what have they saw before, wich wars and blows that make things be what they are, all of it are pretty cool, but a lot of it you would want to see, so some characters talk about how thing will be when the winter come or how war was, all of that they better show us in next seasons, because it creates a hype that would be damned if only commented but never be shown.
    The tv show ain't had no big budget at season 1, so they don't show much special effects here, wich is clever, but that were some moments that a battle happens, and when the war is about to begin, they cut to after it, that can be a problem, cause they set it, and make you wait, but never happens, but considering the moment it was ok. There was one sequence that was bad and very poorly explained, when a major thing happend completely out of nowhere, they gave some shots of 2 seconds in a place that felt bad misplaced that maybe was to context this major thing, but was a problem, consider that it was crucial to the 2nd half of the season and surely will be needed in the next.
    The show makes you relate the character an the moment of the land with stories told before, remeber the name of the places and the people aren't easy. but for understand exact what is hapenning it is crucial, wich is great, it does have courage, and never treats the viewer like a dumb.
    The characters are complex and pretty much all of them have different layers, you really can expect anything of anyone, the characters have the good and bad sides, isn't like everything well defined, it is so good. and those characters are so great as the acting, wich worked a lot. Sean Bean as Ned Stark can totally pass in his eyes the fear, the will and the need to protect, trying to do his best. Mark Addy can be a drunk frustated, and protrays it very well being a king, but a completely lost guy. Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke did a good job, they are cleary being set up for something, but i bough both. Now Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jack Gleeson made character that you completely hate, in the best possible way, their job was majestic. Another that deserves to be commented on is Peter Dinklage, his character isn't strong or don't honor his name like the others do, so he got to be very smart and persuasive, wich he kills in it, everything that comes ou of his mouth is almos poetic.
    I think the show do well in not be predictable in literally any situation, at the 9th episode you get to know that everything can happen with anyone, don't matter if the people adore him or not, no one is safe, and that gives a alert to we that got engaged with the story very tense.
    We believe in this word, the biggest challenge is it, we believe in that.
    This season is pretty good, it introduces to the universes very wel, the characters are good and complex, it isn't a simple show ant that count many points. This season feels like a set up for the next seasons, the stories told will ricochet in future seasons, not just saying but seeing.    … Expand

    3. De locaties die gebruikt zijn in de serie zijn geweldig. De bossen geven veel sfeer en van de nagemaakte kastelen krijg je echt het gevoel dat je in de middeleeuwen beland bent. Grote bouwwerken die met de computer gemaakt zijn zien er heel echt uit.
    4. De acteurs zijn ook goed in de afleveringen. Ze spelen hun rol goed en serieus, waardoor ze ook echt lijken op de persoon die ze spelen. Soms zitten er lastig stukken in waar je bijvoorbeeld met niet bestaande wezens moet vechten, en ik vind dat knap van de acteurs.
    5. In de serie zijn best wat dingen die niet in het echt bestaan of na te maken zijn. Daarom worden die dingen met de computer nagemaakt. Soms zie je dat in series het er nep uit ziet of gewoon niet goed uit ziet, maar in de Game of Thrones ziet het er geweldig uit, nog een reden om zeker de serie te kijken!
    6. Ik hoop dat mensen door deze beoordeling de serie ook gaan kijken want als je het niet hebt gezien mis je echt wat want het is een toffe ervaring. Het heeft een goed verhaal en dat is goed uitgedrukt in de serie.

    When I started watching this show, I wasn't sure what all the hype was about but half way through season one I had definitely concluded that, as of this moment, it is the best TV show that has ever existed. The worst thing about this show is waiting for the next season.

    Just EPIC.The story is the highlight of the series. "GOT" is an amazing TV series. It's full of adventures action, history, drama, magic. The series has a variety of unexpected Plots and turns that'll leave you Struck and in Shock. Every Season is itself an amazing. Writing, Direction everything is PERFECT. It's Awesome. I'm disappointed that we have so long to wait until 2019 season 8 comes out.

    A friend of mine recommended me to watch this series which I started watching in 2017. Seriously it's the best series I have ever watched. The story line and it's matching CGI....no words to describe them. EPIC.

    This show is great and I got addicted to it pretty fast. But the comedy in this show is kind of bad and the amount of sex was just plain weird. Like the way it is grabbing some viewers attention is by showing them porn as though they might think the show wouldn't be good without the porn and it really would. The sibling sex is super **** weird as well.

    El puntaje se debe a que me costo mucho engancharme a la serie, el tiempo que pasaba entre que veia un episodio y otro era enorme y a lo mejor eso no ayudo a queme interesara en la historia y en los personajes, aún asi, el final de temporada hizo valer la pena los demas episodios, en general me gustó pero no tanto como a otros.

    Everyone that I know looks forward to putting everything aside for sixty to ninety minutes on Sunday to be able to escape reality. I did not read the books at all, but have found that talking to others about the show or just simply looking something up on the internet can answer just about any questions you have about the show. I would recommend this show to anyone. Cannot wait until season 8.

    Magnificently put together in every facet. From the storyline to the acting, Game of Thrones is one step ahead of other shows. I was worried at first that the show would venture away from the books too much but they have done a good job for the most part following the book. GOT is a constant adventure and I cannot wait for the final season.

    An extremely successful, fantasy fairy tale in a mediaeval partly gloomy setting with an exciting background story, contemporary political elements and interesting actors. Regie, picture, sound, costume and narrative are fantastic. The battles are terrific. Cgi was perfectly integrated. The best so far I've seen in series.

    Game of Thrones: Season 1 is probably the best season of a TV series that I've ever seen. The characters are well written and acted, the setting is very realistic and gritty, and the action scenes are amazingly good when they do appear. Hopefully, when HBO are done with Game of Thrones, they can do a another TV series on George R.R Martin's prequel book series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

    My favourite TV show ever. The show seems to start off slow, but there is actually so much going on which is relevant...I've heard people liken it to a soap opera. The difference is with a soap opera nothing has to be interconnected, this is a tale so interwoven with each other...Truly remarkable. George RR Martin has just made Tolkein´s work look like a Peter and Jane book.

    BRILLIANT. A expertly adapted fantasy from an overcomplicated book. This is the one to beat and I doubt if any other fantasy TV series will ever come close. The books are superbly crafted by a genius author and the TV show has now taken a life of its own with well formulated plots condensing intricate book storylines.

    Thrones has no direction. Nothing has happened all season. Huge disappointment. Writing sucks. When the books ended everything went downhill. It will take more than boobs to kick start this series.

    With a brilliant plot, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the show. I was reluctant to watch it at first because of the nudity and violence, but only after watching it did I realize that the show is much more than that. The story having variety of themes, plot twists and cliff hangers kept me at the tip of my seat. In simple words, it is a masterpiece.

I really enjoyed every single one and can’t wait for the other books of the series to come out. Great so far. But the TV series?     Literally one of the best shows ever made, after "Breaking Bad."

    It gets a 9, though, because of its current treatment of the source material, unnecessary and inaccurate rape, and the exclusion of favored characters from the books.

    Those complaints aside, it still absolutely deserves a 9 for the acting, story, and drama. Even if you don't enjoy fantasy works, you'll probably enjoy this.

    I always tell everyone to just stick with it past the first episode. It's a lot of information to swallow when you dive into episode one but so incredibly worth around the 3rd or 4th episode. So much is constantly happening. A total binge worthy show that makes you feel like you're watching a movie each episode. Well done. Best show currently airing.

    The epic fantasy series is lavish, violent and often quite nasty. Most crucially, this adaptation of George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" book series is unnecessarily difficult to follow.

    A grand soap opera of epic proportions, Game of Thrones can be a bit talky in some episodes, but the series draws a viewer in with well-defined characters and a multitude of simultaneous stories whose plot turns are generally unpredictable.
