    Following a long hiatus (almost four years I believe!) Futurama made its long awaited return thanks to Comedy Central with four feature lengthFollowing a long hiatus (almost four years I believe!) Futurama made its long awaited return thanks to Comedy Central with four feature length episodes. While these episodes certainly had their humorous moments it quickly became clear that it was difficult to stretch Futurama’s formula beyond the usual 22 minute running time. Fortunately the ratings success of these episodes lead to a full length season.

    Back to its usual length, and free to create the types of crazy plots that only Futurama can the show has been able to pack in more laughs per minute making for a far more enjoyable experience. That being said these new episodes are certainly not as consistently funny as they were from 1999-2003. Episodes such as Attack of the Killer App and A Clockwork origin rival the best the show has ever offered demonstrating there is plenty of life left in Futurama yet, but in between there are far more mediocre episodes than there were previously. Despite this I for one am certainly glad to see the return of the animated sci-fi comedy and look forward to another season.    … Full Review »
