How does this even apply to this storyline. The trek into the woods leads to nothing meaningful. What's the deal with the spiders? Why is the town separated between 'the town people' and Colony House and why do they have to decide permanently where they choose to live? I know the story is headed somewhere, but so far it has gone nowhere. The 'creatures' have been a very small part of the first season - probably less than 1% of the total screen time. The first season mainly revolves around storylines within the community. There are much better series to spend your time on. Expand

Each episode is twice the length it needs to be. Too many forced woke tropes. The plot feels like a dollar-store clone of a Stephen King book.

The series unbearable bro, who's also the stupidest, turns out is a particle physicist specialized in quantum mechanics. You can imagine how well the characters are written.

I've tried to continue watching it when there's nothing better but it doesn't hold my interest. Episodes longer than they need to be. The story just jumps around the same ideas, never getting anywhere. The writers don't have a plan for the plot. They seem to just be writing episodes and seeing what happens. Putting that aside, it juist ends up feeling like a generic sci-fi suspense. It's so unmemorable that when I saw S2 pop up, I couldn't even remember what it was about. Watched S02E01 and there's nothing new here.

This is a completely pointless series that never needed to exist.

The most believable character is delivered by,"the nurse." There are times when the story drags, but the horror element is there. I was caught off guard by one incredible "jump scare" scene. I watched the 1st season and of course, I want to follow the puzzle till the end. However, I find myself struggling with the acting. Expand

Starts off promising, but by a few episodes in it's crystal clear that the writers have no plan and are just making stuff up as they go.

Its creator is brand new, almost no writing/producing credits, so they're continuing to throw undeserving material at us like we're still in the Covid-era. Uh, no. Expand

For those that loved Lost more than a decade ago, but this show managed to improve almost every aspect of storytelling. No more dragging storylines, no more vague horror that never really delivered. Season 1 is a 9/10, Season 2 is currently a 8/10. The only thing that can really go wrong with this show, is if it is cancelled. Without any spoilers, just like Lost there is a very deep overarching story that shrouds the mystery of this story and keeps you hooked. The problem with these types of shows is that they drip-feed information at a very slow pace and they tend to kater character development more, than giving actual answers.

There are a few points that I would also like to mention. This show has some forced woke elements. About 1/3 relationships in this show are LGBTQ+ and the ease they put characters into a bisexual role, felt too forced. They never really push it in your face, but the severe lack of regular straight couples is... woke.

On the other hand, if you can ignore and accept that the show - at times - can feel a bit forced. What is left is close to a masterpiece. The mystery within this show gets close to shows like Dark, which is one of the best mystery shows I've ever seen. Because the actors are mostly relatively unknown, you have no expectations and the actors really push their role perfectly. People are annoying, stupid, dumb, scared, irrational to the point of crazy. Which fits the show perfectly and is executed very well.

I'm mostly just afraid this show doesn't really settle well if the drip-feed of information keeps at the same pace. It is so slow at times that it took 2 entire seasons for 2 characters to talk about a topic the viewers are aware of for many hours into the show. And when they spoke about it, they get mad, and the story still didn't progress. This show has the potential to completely implode on itself as other shows have done, which will mean a rushed last season of the last season to wrap things up. A lot of reviews point this out, but there are a LOT of plotholes right now with topics that don't really return well. Shows like Dark make sure they answer enough within one season so you feel satisfied, this show still hasn't answered a lot of important points over the course of two seasons. And if you ask yourself what you actually know "about this world" right now? You are basically as informed as the people living in this show. And they still barely know anything.

But... if this show does manage to put all the loose ends together and deliver on the connectiveness, this show is going to be one of the best available right now within the genre. It is already MUCH better than Lost, but I'm afraid this show will lead to nothing, or get cancelled without any answers.

But as I binged all available episodes in 2 days, which I haven't done in the last 5 years? That says something. Each episode feels like 30 minutes, I'm hooked from start to end and only really felt 1 episode felt like filler so far. The theory crafting within the show and with the people you watch it with?

It brings me back to my childhood. Even though I wouldn't recommend this particular show for kids. The gore is perfectly fitting, but a bit much for the young ones. I'd recommend this show if you have access to it and you love a good mystery show. Top notch for the budget they had.

Very enjoyable so far although I'm a little worried that they won't stick the landing when it comes around. Even if they don't I reckon the journey will be worth it even if the destination is a let down.

You sit there and everything unravels to an 'ok' finish.

Unfortunately FROM doesn't even manage that, nothing from the story, the acting stands out, it just meanders hopelessly, and you end up annoyed.

You are quite literally made to watch 4,5 episodes where nothing happens, nothing that makes you excited to watch it again.

The acting overall is just too mellow, everyone is subdued, in this horror scape, unless it's their turn to become this episodes protagonist. There's people screaming outside, everyone is just sat in silence inside. There's guts and blood up the walls, it's ok, let's just be calm. Get my drift?

All they had to do is just give you a little shock and awe every now and then. Convince you.
