    It took me a couple episodes to fully get into it, but once you're in - there's no going back.

    Although the plot easily becomes mawkish, there is an intelligence and veracity wrapped within the show’s sleek and cozy shell.

    “From Scratch” may not be as easy to watch as it first may seem. But if you’re also in the mood to indulge the breadth of those emotions anyway, this should provide exactly the weepy embrace you’ll need to get there.

    The results are still inviting enough, at least if you have a taste for sentimental romance. But to put it in terms its chef male lead, Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea), might understand, it could’ve used a little more acid or salt to balance all that sweetness.
