I would've much rather seen two hours of the friend walking around the set, talking, reminiscing and interacting with each other and guest stars of the show, and just be without the interview with the unimaginative questions, cameos from people without connection to the show and a cringy "walkway show" with costumes. Missed opportunity.

Simply perfect from the beginning until the ending. I'm so emotional because I'm living again what I lived years ago.

This was was just boring and didnt do anything for the brand, HBOMAX only wanted new subscribers, this wasn't an effort in the end. Lady Gaga was the only good part.

Reunion show is meant to be a historical event as these actors have not aged that well. It almost felt like a shock seeing them so up-close and under all this unnecessary makeup, which made the things even worse. At least Reunion proved one thing right - they ended the show at the right time. Nobody would have wanted to see them doing Reunion show as scripted Friends one season 31. At least Reunion proved one thing right - they ended the show at the right time. Nobody would have wanted to see them doing Reunion show as scripted Friends one season 31. Because the value of the show is hidden in the talent of group of actors and their muppeteers or show creators at the right time period when they developed from nobody actors to almost real life "Friends" reality show. Yes they have had some success later, but for all of them their peak was Friends as actors and as human beings of flesh and blood. Reunion show was in that sense kinda sad, because these actors will always be in viewers minds as perfect unperfect human beings in their 30ies something. So please do not ruin the show reminding us that Phoebe, Monica, Joey, Chandler, Rachel and Ross age as well. Because on screen they were not supposed to get older than 40 and stay like that for the next 1000 years(so Joey did make a deal with God)! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show represented two decades, a whole city back then and true emotions of friendships like no other show has ever done as it was based on true stories from the producer's lives in new York. This episode explains how the show was born, the way the actors were casted with attention to their personality compared to the roles, it's like a well cooked recipe that can't be done again due to it's originality, it's continuously positive and explains why they didn't make a movie as it was the producer's-writers choice and not the actor's because they should change their lives as was shawn in the final episode. For me the meaning of this episode is that no matter what you go through, always you can rise up and remember the best things you have done in your life no matter what Expand

It did what it was made to. It wasn't supposed to be a new episode. It never was going to be that. So every whinny baby reviewing that this wasn't an episode get over it. The writers even said they didn't want to unravel the ending the left it on. I was supposed to reunite the cast. It was enjoyable, fun, and intelligent. (except for Justen Beiber HUGE MISFIRE on that part.)

Was Friends: The Reunion over-sentimental, clichéd and drawn out? Absolutely, but it was also the happiest two hours of television in recent memory.

Perhaps it’s asking too much for Friends: The Reunion to delve deeper into the production, or reveal some lascivious secrets or difficulties, or grapple more with the show’s impact on pop culture. ... In that respect, Friends: The Reunion has plenty of pleasant fluff to entertain.

The editing flits all over the place, and I suspect that’s because there’s so little substance to this endeavor. The age of streaming hasn’t been conducive to bonus material like the freewheeling commentary tracks that used to show up as DVD extras, but the nearly two hours assembled here doesn’t rise to the level of even that.
