    Once again Fargo does not disappoint. From its opening scene in Germany until its closing seconds it captures your attention and does not let go. As usual the writing, acting, cinematography, and music are all superb. I'm definitely looking forward to the next nine weeks.

    It's getting intense now with every new episode.
    What people here seem to forget is how an arc of suspense actually works. Of course it has to build momentum over a span of episodes. Christ, folks these days just seem to watch the dumbest **** and expect this to be the same.
    This, however, is art. Take the music, it's central to the theatrical orchestration, so carefully selected. Key    It's getting intense now with every new episode.

Key scenes just shine and leave the viewer in awe, the brilliance that this is not another show set in a big city, but in a part of the country where folks don't lock their front doors even in this decade.
    It has every last bit of grandeur of the previous seasons crafted into the details, and if you are unable to grasp that, you're probably better of with the mindless poor excuses for shows now garnering solid 8.0/10.0 ratings...    … Expand

    From the "how can they make Fargo a series?" first season, to the "can they repeat their success" season two, to the "can they three-peat" season three, Noah Hawley has taken the "Fargo universe" and created unique and fascinating television. Key is the brilliant writing, directing, cinematography, and last but not least, the cast. Like season two, this season has an Elmore Leonard (GetFrom the "how can they make Fargo a series?" first season, to the "can they repeat their success" season two, to the "can they three-peat" season three, Noah Hawley has taken the "Fargo universe" and created unique and fascinating television. Key is the brilliant writing, directing, cinematography, and last but not least, the cast. Like season two, this season has an Elmore Leonard (Get Shorty, Justified, etc.) feel to it, with average people being pulled into extra-ordinary circumstances revolving around money, greed and murder. Ewan McGregor is better than ever as the Stussy brothers, and Carrie Coon and, especially Mary Elizabeth Winstead shine. Like Ryan Murphy's recent Feud, this is appointment television to savor and enjoy.… Expand

    This season of Fargo has been special, quite like the others. Season 1 & 2 are among 2 of my favorite seasons of Television ever and Season 3 has been no exception. The cast is brilliant as always, my 3 main highlights being David Thewlis as VM Varga, one of the most interesting villains I can remember on TV, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Nikki Swango who has been simply amazing and hasThis season of Fargo has been special, quite like the others. The cast is brilliant as always, my 3 main highlights being David Thewlis as VM Varga, one of the most interesting villains I can remember on TV, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Nikki Swango who has been simply amazing and has brilliantly developed throughout the course of the season and of course Ewan McGregor playing the amazing dual roles of Emmit & Ray Stussy. Beyond just the characters the plot is what really draws me in this season, the layers that cause the plot to continuously thicken as the story progresses are truly beautiful. I truly didn't know what was going to happen next and the motives of many of the characters are left up to question which makes for interesting, on the edge of your seat television. Not to mention the cinematography speaks for itself with beautiful shots showing off the world of Fargo and truly captured me every episode. With only the finale left, Noah Hawley did it again, this season is dark, humorous in all the right places, beautifully shot, has once again, a brilliant cast of characters and the plot never ceases to amaze me as has built up to this finale. 10/10 for me.… Expand

    This tv series is a masterpiece, actors are great, dialogues are good and I mean really good. Fargo the movie is a complete masterpiece and all the three seasons are great, especially this one which offers everything !

    I see a lot of people talking about how this season has less engaging characters, but I'm honestly really enjoying it. It's cool to see actors that I wouldn't have expected to find in the Fargo series, and see how the stories for each character develop and interweave. Sometimes it takes time for the characters to find each other, and the plot to develop. My only complaint is that we have yet too see how this season ties into the earlier two, though that could change. It's possible they wanted to do something fresh and new, unconstrained stories from past seasons. Either way, it's an ensemble cast with excellent execution. To those who find themselves disappointed in the earlier episodes, give it a chance to unfold in its entirety and see if you still feel the same way about it.… Expand

Algunos capítulos como el tercero, el quinto o el octavo son buen ejemplo de ello. Los personajes son fascinantes y el ¿antagonista? no es mejor que Malmo pero es muy inquietante y a la vez fascinante y repulsivo.     The amazing thing about 'Fargo' is that it continues to be fresh even if its structure remains the same throughout seasons. Hawley has the cunning talent of the Coen Brothers and the boldness of Tarantino and that's what makes him a compelling writer and director.

    Amazing work. very engaging and interesting story. beautiful cinematography, great characters, wise choice of music. I loved V.M Varga and every single dialogue he said. exceptional work really.

    The first season was great, the second was even better, and judging from the first episode of season 3, it has actually surpassed my high expectations and looks like it's going to be the best season of the lot.

    Ewan Mcgregor is brilliant (times two) and the supporting cast is superb too.     The beginning of this season was admittedly a bit confusing a somewhat hard to stomach, but the compelling performances of the main cast, especially Ewan McGregor's mesmerising dual performace, who, if he was playing just one of    Someone get Noah Hawley to start doing movies. Thewlis is creepy and mysterious, he plays the first true quintessential villain on the show who makes no effort to be liked, and it's amazing. However, my personal favourites from the ensemble are Carrie Coon's hilariously and relatablely out of touch Gloria and Michael Stuhlbarg's awkward but powerful Sy Feltz who can spin the word 'jeez' into anything he wants.

    Combine that with witty writing, great guest stars and Minnesota, and you have the best show of 2017 so far.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Last Week's episode of Fargo: Into the Fire put the bow into the tie, which connects it to seasons one and two. While no Solverson's have appeared yet, nor any Fargo, syndicate hit men, we are starting to see the themes, variations and parallels, which have been Hawley hallmarks of previous two seasons. We have steady, unassuming cop, Gloria, trying to solve a crime and a dismissive, new boss pushing her to "move along cause there's nothing to see here." We have identity switches, mistakes and not one but two evil entities: a female tigress, named, Nikki, who is transforming a likable, looser named, Ray Stussy, into her evil twin and an insidious, evil virus, named V. M. Vargas infecting the life of Emmitt Stussy, Ray's calculating twin brother.

    I normally do not comment on this show: there is no need too. No one complained at all about seasons' one or two; however, so many reviewers have questioned this season's slow pace and bemoaned that Gloria is flat compared to Solverson clan: Molly, her dad and Grand- Paw, Hank.
    Gloria, like Molly, is a smart cop from a small town, who is underestimated, unappreciated and unassuming she is pushed aside by others. Glory sticks to her guns when others are telling her to pack it in. However, Glory is quieter and more contemplative than Molly. Which, at first, may make her seem flat; however, over the first four episodes, we learn Gloria is reserved. She mostly listens and watches others rather than interject herself into situations. We also learn early on Gloria is also dealing with a divorce; her husband has left her for another man. So, a less observant viewer could easily see a flat-line whenever Gloria is on camera.
    Yet, make no mistake, Gloria has a heartbeat. She loves her son and even feels duty bound to her step-father, Ennis Stussy, after her mom dies. Even though Ennis barks at her at times, she and her son have dinner with him on a regular basis. She tells her son in some many words: hey, he was married to my mom, ya know. We see this duty turned into to dogged determination once she finds Ennis murdered. Gloria returns Ennis' house because her son forgot the birthday present, "Grand-Dad," made him. From that moment on, Gloria moves calmly but assuredly into Sheriff mode after she finds Ennis dead in the, kitchen tied to a chair, suffocated: his nose and mouth sealed with super glue and his house ransacked by an assailant looking for something.

    Gloria will only feel released from this duty once she finds his killer. This could get complicated because Gloria's Eden Valley police department is being absorbed into the County, and she will have a new boss. Hearkening back to season one, Gloria's new boss blows into town, takes one look at her tiny department, chides her shoddy policing because she has not embraced computers and still uses file cabinets. He takes one look and dismisses her as a lousy cop. He promises to return, however, with a new organizational plan, which includes forcing Gloria to embrace technology as his, new authority. Here, when begin to we see the brilliance of Hawley's character creation and plot line come together. In the first two seasons, the Solverson Clan is mocked by big city or county police officers because, their small-town values can't solve modern problems.
    Now, Gloria now finds herself in the same boat. Even though she has been Eden Valley's Sheriff for a while with no complaints, she is pushed aside. She is invisible. In fact, Noah Hawley, takes his theme of small town people and values as invisible to the "real evil" and "progress" to a new level when he takes Gloria from figurative invisibility and changes it into literally invisibility: from the first episode, we learn sensor, technology ignores Gloria or fails to sense her presence.

    Gloria can't walk through automatic doors, use a cell phone, without it dropping or even get soap from a sensor dispenser or dry her hands under a motion, activated hand dryer. Maybe, Gloria relies on her own senses, instincts and old-fashioned detective work because it has always worked in the past, so why fix something Gloria doesn't see as broke. Remember, last year, Ed told Peggy she was always trying to fix things and sometimes there is nothing broken. I'll talk about Peg Blomquist in a few moments. Then again, it might just be that technology has been no friend to her! Hawley hammers this point once more as Gloria's job as Sheriff disappears with the county takeover of her office and she is caught in the undertow of "Modernization."

    However, Gloria cannot worry about her disappearing job, or identity. She has a murder to solve. Someone has killed her step-dad and she intends to find the murderer. Perhaps the slow space of the show so far is mirroring Gloria's steady, methodical policing and her personality.    … Expand

It is a philosophical deep dive into our current society and the concept of truth and how subjective it can be. The villains this year are pure evil, especially David Thewlis' disgusting V.M. Varga, and theBeautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and a damn good time. Hawley does it again this year putting a new spin on the "THIS IS A TRUE STORY" line shown at the beginning of each episode. It is a philosophical deep dive into our current society and the concept of truth and how subjective it can be. The villains this year are pure evil, especially David Thewlis' disgusting V.M. Varga, and the wonderfully psychotic Meemo played by Andy Yu. The cop character is a staple for the Fargo series, and there is no shortage here. Carrie Coon plays a soon-not-to-be chief of the Eden Valley PD named Gloria Burgle. She has a tough time this season, I'll tell you that much. There are also different supporting police characters like Donny Mashman, Winnie Lopez, and the not-so-supportive Moe Dammick. Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Nikki Swango the lover of Ray Stussy played by Ewan McGregor who also plays Ray's brother Emmit. Got that? With Emmit, comes a man familiar with the Coen Bros universe. Michael Stuhlbarg plays my favorite character in the series, Sy Feltz, the righthand man of Emmit Stussy. All of these characters get caught up in the dangerous and chaotic world of Fargo Season 3.… Expand

    Really good season. I definitely preferred it to the 2nd, but the first season is still hands down the best. It has all the elements of a Fargo season: crazy co-incidence, cops really good at their job, cops really bad at their jobs trying to stop the ones that are good from doing their jobs properly, some really nasty and repulsive bad guys, and not to forget the best element: death - ofReally good season. I definitely preferred it to the 2nd, but the first season is still hands down the best.     Third Season is just as fun, refreshing and original as the first, an amazing feat considering that each season has a different story. . Never tire of the location and characters. Bravo. 8.7 stars

    Love it! Fargo does it again. There is a perfect mix of comedy and cringe delivered by an outstanding cast. Tune in for the ridiculous and feel its chill.

    With same wicked style of original movie, concerning a supposed true story that envolves antagonism, blackmail, machiavellism and other things worst. Remarkable David Thewlis as the cynical blackmailer. The end of final chapter leaves many questions with no answer.

    Fargo’s third season still carries all the hallmarks that give the show such a unique feel and, as a result, it remains an interesting and entertaining watch throughout. Compared to the first two seasons however the plot lacks a little focus and the characters aren’t quite as well written meaning overall it’s not quite as memorable.

    My least favorite of last 2 seasons. It was less entertaining than last 2 seasons. It has more philosophy. It was amazing but little boring as compared to other seasons. Direction and cinematography is the best part of this season. David Thewlis was great but became repetitive and boring in the end. Ewan Mcgregor did great acting. Carrie Coon was great too. Mary Elizabeth did a weak job.

    By deeply exploring the rift between what is true and what isn't, Fargo dives into philosophical levels more than it has so in its previous two seasons. While the acting, scriptwriting, themes, and cinematography are exemplary, the narrative momentum simply takes too long to accumulate.

    Fargo continues to provide us with enthralling, quirky storytelling in season 3 and the cast is absolutely spectacular in this one. Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon do a great job as always. The production level is top notch as well, almost on par with some big budget movies. And while I don't believe the story of this season is of the same level of quality as season 1, season 3 is stillFargo continues to provide us with enthralling, quirky storytelling in season 3 and the cast is absolutely spectacular in this one. Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon do a great job as always. The production level is top notch as well, almost on par with some big budget movies. And while I don't believe the story of this season is of the same level of quality as season 1, season 3 is still fantastic television.… Expand

And why some characters suddenly act as if they were different personalities. The pregnant winnie drinks alcohol? The cast however is great to watch and they do play there role well, although i do find Carrie Coon to be dull and McGregor and Thewlis to be the stand outs of the show. Ultimately this season ain't great and while it does not taint the amazing film and first two seasons it is heavily underwhelming.… Expand

    I am a fan of shows that attempt different goals in every season but this is an example of going too far off the rails. This season attempts to be ultra-artistic, bringing out very obscure moments and scenes, even the entirety of episode 3, that feel like a waste of time. If I wanted to look at some obscure films or tv shows, I would pay to watch those, I didn't expect that to be the main staple of a suspenseful franchise with colorful characters and dark humor. Along with being obscure, this season is bland, in color and in feeling, in fact it strove to make me feel uncomfortable a lot. All the fun and comedic irony I know Fargo for is stripped out, there are no chuckles and no silliness in either the story or characters, all that's left is the location and the accent in people's voices. The ending too is a decide-for-yourself moment and I did like that because it made me think and ties in with the plot, unlike all the preceding, random decide-for-yourself moments. The acting is superb, especially by David Thewlis who plays a despicable antagonist and Ewan McGregor who is playing two brothers. The acting is a pillar that held my interest. The montages are stylish and captivating but most of them empty because they serve little purpose to the plot and at times they are overdone. Even with all the issues present, I would still be able to enjoy the season and think that it's just the weaker one but there is a more glaring problem. There is no character that is truly likable besides for a side police character. There was Nicki Swango, but her story wraps up so disappointingly that it makes it pointless to think back on her. The main protagonist is bland beyond belief, with plainness and dedication being her main personality traits. There is no light or darkness in her, in fact the symbolism used to portray her is that of a person that doesn't exist as she cannot be detected by technology and is juxtaposed with a repetitive robot that nobody cares about. I like when shows try to do something new in a season and if in this season they set out to have everything follow a theme of blandness: bland characters, bland colors, bland artsy moments, then they have achieved it immensely, otherwise whatever they were trying to achieve wound up to be scattered, disconnected bits of shallow glory that were irrelevant to the plot.… Expand

The film was brilliant, season 1 was amazing start to finish, season 2 felt odd to begin with but turned out to be fantastic (including the UFO bits). Season 3, not so much. It's not bad per se, but I wouldn't call it good either. I haven't connected with any of the characters in either a positive or negative way and the stories just seem to wander around. Many elements seem forced, it feels like the show is trying to be like "Fargo" instead of just being Fargo. A good example of this is the police chief's dogged refusal to even listen to "old chief". What is his motivation? He has none other than that's what they did in season 1. This season is also missing the warm family elements we had in season 1 (Molly and Lou, Gus and daughter) and season 2 (Lou and his wife and father-in-law etc). Lastly, the music. Every time a song starts I cringe as it's either an obnoxious sounding old Eastern European track or something else equally annoying. This was made more apparent when the "deaf fella"'s theme started playing after his surprise return. If they make a season 4 I hope they stop trying to copy themselves and do something fresh.… Expand

    I think using the same actor for both roles is a gimmick that did not add to the storyline in any way. This is a very disappointing series as I loved the first two, but this one just has nothing that grabs me. I don't care much about the characters and stopped watching after episode 4.

    Go to the source, Twin Peaks, See what it looked like when it was a fresh idea. Before it became the focus of study for screenwriting classes which have produced clever, antiseptic shows like this. Lynch lite.

    From its dynamic female characters, to its willingness to turn dashing leading men like McGregor into far more fascinating warts and all character actors, to its exquisite (and frequently hilarious) montages about everyday Americana, Fargo's third season is thus far as strong as any of the sterling preceding tales in this snowed in noir universe.

    One man's bland is another's bliss, don't ya know. That's certainly the case with the third season of Noah Hawley's Fargo franchise, with its delicious recipe of quirky humanism and chilling, shocking violence unaltered by a year's hiatus. [1-14 May 2017, p.19]

    As always, however, the pleasures of Fargo derive from the variety of the characters and the clever wordplay they indulge in. ... Coon and Hawley quickly establish the distinctiveness of Gloria’s character: she’s not as polite as Allison Tolman’s Deputy Molly Solverson in season one, nor as tight-lipped serene as Patrick Wilson’s Trooper Lou Solverson in season two.
