    I remember telling people (during Falling Skies second season) that they need to watch this show. I would tell them it was like Walking Dead with aliens instead of zombies. Watching season 4, I hope no one I told actually picked up the show, because it is just awful. Nothing from season 4 connects with any of the previous seasons. Nothing from season 4 connects with any of the previous seasons. Honestly, I am not even sure the new writers have even watched the show. A good example is the alien tech. In the first season, we see these harnesses that physically morph the kids into human slaves. In the second and third season we see these bugs that worm into your brain and take control of your mind. In the forth season, the aliens are trying to convert human children by making them go to a training camp. What!? It doesn't make sense. Another example is the fact that these aliens are merciless (except with the main character), but instead of killing everyone, they put them into a prison/slum. What is going on? Also, forget about the Volm, they have a quickly written plot to excuse them from the scene. Please make it stop... Oh wait, I can. Bye bye Falling Skies.… Expand

    This show went from great to OK to completely rubbish over the 4 seasons. The latest season was so dull and uninteresting that I have not been able to keep interested in a single episode or a single character. As others here have said: absolutely awful script, awful direction, awful characters and awful cheesy acting.     Really feel as though the death knell has been tolled for this show. The first three seasons have been excellent. Now, it's as though the writers all left and now they are throwing in any and all of the ridiculous plot devices that kill a good science fiction show. It is no longer science fiction, it is low    I'm seeing a lot of reviews here that seem to echo exactly what I'm thinking.

    Now, it's as though the writers all left and now they are throwing in any and all of the ridiculous plot devices that kill a good science fiction show. It is no longer science fiction, it is low end sci-if. This is incredibly frustrating.

    When is Sasquatch going to make an appearance? Wait, how about the Flying Dutchman? Can we throw any more hokey paranormal crap into it? I'm six episodes from the end of the season, but am now watching to see how bad it will get at this point. It even seems like some of the actors have already checked out, like they are no longer committed to performing as though they mean it. I've been doing stage production since I was a teenager, and there has never been a time when I wasn't fully committed to the role I was playing. If I reached that point, I would quit. Maybe that's why we keep losing characters?

    Weak plots, weaker plot devices, terrible script writing; I'm just disgusted with it. I'm sick of the contrivance. No more original writings, just mining every bad plot device put into television shows. Saturday night massacre is so loaded full of bad writing and plot devices... It's like they are trying to find any way possible to get an emotional attachment in this episode. The absolute worst part? I keep pointing out who will die next in this episode, and so far I've been right each time. It's just pitiful. And the slow pan over all the dead? Yeah. I expected that, too. I'm just waiting for Patrick Duffy to wake up.    … Expand

    This show has progressively decayed into the realm of absolutely stupid and braindead. The amount of cliche and downright cheesy in the progression of this "plot" (and i use that term loosely) is enough to bring some to tears with outright laughter.

    Makes me wonder what the rest of the world is doing during all of this though. Are these handful of people all that remains of the human race? If that is supposed to be implied, then that certainly increases Falling Skies' comedy factor by a hefty margin.    … Expand

    Well it beats watching reruns, but not by much. With little coherence between one episode and the next it's like this series was written by a different set of guest writers every week (who didn't talk to each other). The quality of the plots and scripts rank right there with an intern's summer project. Could have been so much more.

    Season 4 = BORING. Every episode is the same -- like watching the same story over and over -- talk talk talk LEXI talk talk talk LEXI talk talk talk. I don't care if I miss an episode. Seems like the writers lost interest or don't know where to go with this show.

    Unfortunately this show has fallen completely out of the sky and has gone every direction but good. Great attempt at copying GoT's blonde being way over powered for the show. Nice introduction of three alien races only one of which that may have a slight interest of actually helping humanity prevail. The Nazi kid camp, very poor taste, and absolutely and utterly plot useless. Most characters have had such devastation and personal loss which is making it unbearable to watch. How many seasons does it take to win back planet Earth? Thank God season 5 is the finale, finally some closure. One or two ways for it to end either we win or the evil aliens leave a device which incinerates the entire planet cutting their losses. No need to hinge on the hope for better writing or how it's going to finally end.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Awful, awful stuff. Watching an episode in my house takes about 15 minutes because we really can't sit through all the pointless schmaltz and events that are quite clearly going to be resolved in the same episode.

    This week it was Maggie being crippled at the start yet was cured after receiving an injection of alien handwavium. Basically they should have titled this episode "The One Where Maggie Sleeps Through Being a Cripple".

    Absolute nonsense writing. The writers are cherry picking plot points from other more successful scifi shows but do not have the skill to weave them into their own coherent narrative. A pity to see what promised to be a BSG or Walking Dead beater served so inexpertly by everyone involved.

    There are so many boring "who cares?" Plot lines? The acting is dreadful or maybe it's the directing. I'm actually wondering if they are trying to go for laughs.     Have all the writers been fired and they just hired someone from the street to write the script? This is a really really bad development. Looks like they are looking for it to get canceled. If the next episode is as bad, I am going to drop the show.

    I was a big fan of "Falling Skies" til I watched the first 3 episodes of the 4th season, what was that ?
    1-Lexi turned from brown American Indian into some fair Ukrainian chick ? and with massive super powers, like she turned into a super monk or something ? drawing on air ? are you kidding me ? and what's wrong with Lourdes ? I wanna shoot her badly !
    2- A Nazi brainwash school ? really    I was a big fan of "Falling Skies" til I watched the first 3 episodes of the 4th season, what was that ?

    This show is simply stupid, boring and soooo bland I can't believe this is actually happening. The first episode starts as always, with a boring twist and then some of the worst CGI I have ever seen. Just don't see this, could melt your brain.

By the way, i only watch to criticize and see how bad it becomes. The season premiere was one of the worst premieres and episodes ever coming to see the light of day. It's funny that they think these deaths mean anything. Everyone knows a Mason can't die in the show. There's always a BS way they get out alive. There is no character development in the show period and the writing is completed by a 3rd grader. I have no idea what they're thinking when they are writing this @#$^. To me it sounds, what bs can we add into the show now. The second part of the season finale was fine, but only the Tom and Lexi moon story line was meaningful to the show. The other story line provided no real danger for the characters. Thank God season 5 is the final season.… Expand

    What a revolting first episode to season 4. It starts off with smiles and happy faces and suddenly boom aliens attack and not in a good way. The first episode has no flair to it,its boring its old it has been done. And it makes no sense. They should have cancelled this series after season 2. Good bye Falling Skies.

    The show and its characters finally take a step forward, making the characters seem more real and relatable instead of drier and inaccessible. While it's uncertain to know how much left the show has, it would be unfortunate to back away from what I would consider the best season of Falling Skies.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season is trash. I greatly enjoyed 1-3. I can barely slog through this one. Each episode has so many garbage things happen. I actually thought they'd breath some life into it with Saturday Night Massacre, but the only people who died were extras. Except Tector, the amazing sniper who can't make an easy shot at short distance because that guy must be useful to the plot later. They should rename the show The Uhhhh-mazin' Adventures of the Unkillable Masons. It's just so predictable. Oh no Maggies in trouble she might die, oh wait Hal's in trouble he might die, oh boy oh boy Tom's heading into certain death. Oh wait no none of them can die, so just wait to the end to see the amazingly unconvincing way they don't die. WD - Carl messes up and Rick lets him know it. FS - Matt lets the girl who is (obviously) carrying the whistle loose and Tom's just like no big deal man, you love her. It doesn't matter that we lost the weapons cache or that we almost died (yet again), that Anne ran in front of a guy firing a fully automatic weapon trained right on where she ran from. Because we're the Masons, we can't die. Garbage.… Expand

    A good chunk of these reviews take place after only the first couple of episodes and while I agree that this season is very slow to start, Falling Skies does a very good job of picking itself up to make for a very exciting season.     Most of the acting is very good and engaging (albeit a slight bit over the top sometimes).The plot is pretty darn cool and the pace is balanced so what's the deal with the (highly exaggerated) negative responses?

    I enjoyed season 4 alot and I ate the episodes up.

    Highly recommended for Sci-fi lovers that also have interest in the human/psychological side.

    Good show with a deeper plot than one would expect in a science fiction type program. The roles of the actors have been well developed within reason and the plot of the show. The last season was weaker for plot and the writing overall but this could become a cult classic and a real winner if the actors are given a wonderful scrip.

    Falling Skies is going down, this season 4 is really horrible... A lot of content was already bad explained, but now things a much worse in terms of story... It is sad... The plot is very confusing, low level scifi with great actors.

    Remember that crappy season of Battlestar stuck on New Caprica? This has the same feel. Fallen Skies is at its best when humans fighting for survival against the invaders, linking up with other resistance groups, not this alien baby silliness..

    Falling skies is a preview of post apocalyptic life under the thumb of Chairman-O but with much more entertaining, over the top, budget sucking CGI

    #ThePeoplesCUBE

    Season FOUR is possible series termination as the shift in focus is the alluded to other-other aliens from Season THREE albeit unseen.

    Plot progresses with greater tedium and is more frustrating to intentionally watch

    While the sense of escalation is reasonably contagious, the push to the finale would feel better if it were worth investing in any of Skies' army of limp, interchangeable characters.

    Based on the first few hours, then, it would be premature to suggest the sky is falling. But as the producers labor to manage and advance all the show’s moving parts, they appear to have lost a couple of battles.
