Season 1 Review:
The show’s story lines--money problems, childhood rebellions--are what you might see on any animated family show. The difference is, F for Family treats these issues as if they’re real and lasting. It’s still a comedy, rude, raunchy and not entirely original, but it has heft and heart.

Season 1 Review:
The sadness and unrest in F Is for Family tempers the humor and keeps the show from ever getting too frivolous. The family of its title gives the show a hopeful core, but it's always looking around the corner for the next stumbling block, so mostly, F Is for Family is entertainingly honest.

Season 1 Review:
With per-episode running times of 25 minutes or longer (around four minutes more than a standard network animated show), there are some pacing issues and general fuzziness here and there. But for the most part, it's a neat little series with potential to be a whole lot more.

Season 1 Review:
After six episodes, much has changed and the focal points indicate a knowledge of the deeper impact Frank has on his family. The first season even sets up beautifully for a fascinating and much-needed role reversal in Season 2, but the overall tone leaves much to be desired. Primarily, it's not very funny.

Season 1 Review:
Frank’s screeds will be familiar to anyone who has caught Burr’s superior stand-up act, but something gets lost when bringing that voice and sensibility over to a scripted, animated format. F Is for Family spends too much time working itself up to a full boil--which arrives only in the last episode-and-a-half.
