    The main reason to tune in to ER this season is to see the full-blooded character Maura Tierney is creating with scant help from the writers, who increasingly think the best way to hook viewers is to either endanger a baby's life or have someone shoot a gun in an operating room.

Amidst being redesigned, for a more open, safe floorplan, the show's seventh season begins with Carter (Noah Wyle) finishing his medication restoration with the backing of Abby (Maura Tierney), whose own life is in chaos after she is compelled to drop out of medicinal school, her new sentiment with Kovac (Goran Visnjic) hits numerous pitfalls, and her bipolar-perpetrated mother (Sally Field in an Emmy-winning turn) comes to sit tight.… Full Review »
