Doom Patrol remains as effortlessly odd-ball in its sophomore season, but also improves itself by leaning even harder into the tragedy of it all at the same time.

In its early going, Doom Patrol’s second season sacrifices too much joy on the altar of its heroes’ troubled psyches, without enough chances to savor their unusual charms—or marvel at the oddities continually swirling around them. For its first few episodes, DC’s strange and engaging drama feels more like Doom And Gloom Patrol.

The introspection just drags on throughout the first seven episodes, then completley consumes the finale. For a superhero show, they sure lost the plot when it comes to using those powers. In comparison to season one's finale, which left me wanting a lot more, I am questioning if I will care if Season three is made. At least Umbrella Academy is still good. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Although Season 2 was a bit underwhelming and rushed with a very unsatisfying ending, you can very well understand it happened because of the sudden COVID lockdown. I hope after the pandemic ends the season will be continued and a proper ending will be given, although I don't mind if they start directly with a Season 3.

My favourite character in the series was Robotman (Cliff Steele). Whenever he is around we know something interesting or funny will happen. Plus he looks so cool. His fight with Jesus in the last episode and when he got a rat in his circuit left me in splits. I hope to see more of this in future. I recommended this show to all my friends and they all liked it. I'd recommend you to see it too if you are above 18.

Diane Guerrero (especially as Jane, Scarlet Harlot, Baby Doll, Flit, Karen, and Hammerhead), April Bowlby, Abigail Shapiro, Brendan Fraser, and Matt Bomer gave phenomenal performances. Lex Lang, Kat Cressida, Timothy Dalton, and Joivan Wade gave pretty great performances as well. The visual effects were outstanding especially Candlemaker, Herschel, Darling Come Home, Roxy, Manny, Kay's/Jane's personalities powers, and the Negative Spirit. The writing was exceptional. The character development was excellent especially with Jane, Dorothy, Rita, Cliff, Niles, Larry, Vic, Scarlet Harlot, Hammerhead, Pretty Polly, and the Secretary. The costumes were terrific especially ones wore by Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Alan Mingo Jr., Abigail Shapiro, Matt Bomer, Vanessa Carter, Pisay Pao, and Mark Sheppard and the Cliff Robotman costume. The makeup and hairstyling was remarkable especially on Abigail Shapiro, Diane Guerrero, Matt Bomer, Pisay Pao, April Bowlby, and Alan Mingo Jr. The music was fantastic. Also still love the cool main title design. Another A+ season. Full Review »
