With the actuation of Timothy Dalton, Alan Tudyk and the return of Brendan Fraser is a "must watch" show in which we fall from the first moment thanks to the characters, acid humor, a well written story, fourth wall breakers moments and a lot an a lot of bizarre moments as is in the comics.
If you didn't have the chance yet of read it, you must but we aware of the (maybe) future spoilers that you will find in this strange, peculiar and odd cosmos inside of the DC universe.

This show is absolutely brilliant, much much better than it's spin-off Titans. The tone, the premise, the writing, its all unique, It's weird but in a good way. There have only been 2 episodes so far that pick up from where it left. All those mistakes that Titans made are mildly being repeated here, like introducing a new character in every episode, it just doesn't suit this kind of a show. Now it's not a bad thing but it's not a good thing either, still this small issue doesn't ruin the show. Expand

Doom Patrol is clever, gorgeous, and weird. And at the same time, it's amazing when it comes to the sharp Emmy worthy acting, cinematography, and writing. DCU has its own 'American Gods-like' show that you cannot miss, especially if you're a fan of DC.

Really well done show. It's kind of dark but also really funny and weird. Every character is very enjoyable, I'm excited to see what happens throughout the rest of the season because it looks like it'll be a wild ride.

The atmosphere, the irony, the stories of the team.
    It is perfect.
DC Comics knows how to make projects of excellent quality.

Doom Patrol had one of the best superhero pilots ever. It did a great job balancing the tragedy with the just plain weirdness factor, and the end result was an awesome episode.

A faster start than Titans, but, then they are two different animals. This show will be a hit, it is just a matter of people relaxing and just following the story. Two episodes in and it was easy and fun. I hope to see more!! Good job everyone!!!

Great show. It't not perfect, and there's some questionable special effects, but it has heart. I care about and am invested in every single character after the first episode.

Love this show. Very Dr. Who'ish and violent at times and funny and character driven. A bit of David Lynch type stuff for good measure. Instantly captivating.

After five episodes Doom Patrol has really hit it's stride with Tudyk shining in the role of protagonist. This is easily one of the most watchable DC universe products, and is far more entertaining than most of their movies. The adult and realistic attitude perfectly counterpoints the whimsy powers the characters utilize. Even the iffy CGI from the earlier epsiodes has been sorted. This is even weirder than Gotham. And that show can be **** crazy. 4 episodes in and I'm loving almost everything. Except Cyborg. He has got to go. Too many similarities with Robot Man.

What an incredible journery I had with these band of misfits for 15 episodes. Fresh, creative, hilarious, werid (in a good way), character driven and dramatic. A triumph for DC, WB and everyone involved with this show including the showrunners, writers and actors. Can't wait for season 2!

They've been living in seclusion until their benefactor Niles "The Chief" Caulder (former James Bond Timothy Dalton) is kidnapped, forcing them to go into the outside world and try to do good. The Doom Patrol though not one of the most famous comic superhero teams, has survived over the years by making a place for itself as the "weird" superhero comic. I had always wanted to see the DP adapted to TV or film, and this show was really everything I wanted.

Doom Patrol is a wild trip, and I loved every single minute of it. This is one of the most creative shows I've ever seen. They squeeze in so many ideas and unique visuals. It helps that this show has a big enough budget that the showrunners can do whatever they want.

The show manages to seamlessly blend comedy and tragedy. Pacing is excellent, though they do rely on flashbacks a little too much sometimes.

All the characters and their actors really gel. I unfortunately don't have the time to describe each individual character, but they are all distinct, likable, and oozing with pathos. What really drives this first season is just learning the backstories and trials for each character. Supporting cast is pretty strong too. Prepare to love Alan Tudyk as the main villain Mr. Nobody.

I was surprised at what a love letter this was to the original comics. Yes, the showrunners have a lot of new ideas, some really good ones in fact, but this show may be closest to the original comics than any other superhero television adaptation. The show's greatest inspiration is the Grant Morrison run, it's most popular era, while throwing in a few good dashes of the original 60's run. I don't think fans will have too much to complain about. (Ideally, I mean. We are talking about fans here.)

One of the best new aspects of this show is how it handles the character of Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby). Given that she was missing from the team for three decades, including the Morrison run, her character hasn't been as strongly defined as some of the other characters. (She was dead for a while. We don't have time to get into that.) Here they mold her into a character that is empathetic but can also be prissy and a bit much in a fun way.

Most surprising thing about this show is that Cyborg (Joivan Wade) is added. He's been known as a member of Teen Titans or Justice League, but never the Doom Patrol. Yet, he works. His backstory is also tragic and as an already active superhero he serves as a gateway for the characters to enter the world of heroics.

Be forewarned that there are moments where things can get pretty dark or gross.

I can't recommend Doom Patrol enough. If you're looking for something new, I highly recommend this.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished season 1 of Doom Patrol and it was one on the best shows I have watched, perfect first season. The acting is so good especially Diane Guerrero who gives an astounding performance as Crazy Jane and the other personalities, she may look relatively like the same person when she plays each personality but her performances make you believe that with each personality change that it is a whole new character, as Crazy Jane she gives a very powerful, deep, and complex performance and as the other personalities she gives performances that are all just phenomenal and each complex as well especially as Karen, Dr. Harrison, Penny Farthing, Hammerhead, and Baby Doll. Diane Guerrero has not received enough praise and awards for her performances on Doom Patrol, her portrayal of these characters are some of the best performances I have ever seen. Alan Tudyk, April Bowlby, Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Devan Long,Timothy Dalton and Joivan Wade give exceptional performances. Curtis Armstrong, Pisay Pao, and Alec Mapa also have pretty good performances. The writing is amazing especially the character development. The character development is just remarkable especially with Crazy Jane, Rita, Karen, Larry, Cliff, Vic, Niles, Dr. Harrison, Hammerhead, Flex, Baby Doll, Eric/Mr. Nobody, Ezekiel, and Danny. The visual effects were magnificent especially Rita's powers, the Negative Spirit, Kay's/Jane's different personalities powers specifically Silver Tongue, Sun Daddy, and Flaming Katy, Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man, Manny, Mr. Nobody, the butt creatures, and Ezekiel the Cockroach. The costumes were stupendous especially Cliff's robotman costume and costumes wore by April Bowlby, Joivan Wade, Diane Guerrero, Alan Mingo Jr., Pisay Pao, Timothy Dalton, Alan Tudyk, Devan Long, and Brendan Fraser. The makeup and hairstyling was outstanding especially on Pisay Pao, Matt Bomer, April Bowlby, Diane Guerrero, Ted Sutherland, Alan Mingo Jr., Devan Long, Brendan Fraser, and Timothy Dalton. Also I love the main title theme it is so cool and creepy and love he music. An A+ first season. Expand

TL;DR - Every single time I thought that this show could not get any weirder it proved me wrong and kept chugging along into such fascinatingly weird plot-lines, couple that with good character writing and you have Doom Patrol S01. The Good
I was so close to have given up on DC Live action after the horrendous Titans and all of the positive feed back that Show has received, 'Doom Patrol' saved me and my hope for Good Writing in a DC Comic Book based Show. From the first episode they start off strong with Alan Tudyk's introduction and followed by Brendan as a foulmouthed race car driver, this show had me in it's embrace.
Every episode that follows introduced us to new characters and gave us writing strong enough for me to care for each and every one of our leads since it is hard to pin down a single person in the show as a lead. It will be mistake to single out any aspect of the show as better than another as everything is was well paced from character interactions/bonding to motivation's and character growths.

This Pilot Season does it right by giving the viewers a show driven by the actors playing their parts to such delightful charm that you sympathize/empathize and connect with every single person even the one's that were there just for an episode or two. Now this is not to say that the show does anything groundbreaking or reinventing but does all with with heart and soul that it is a very satisfying experience.

    The Bad
None Whatsoever that is important enough to mention.

Just like Marvel/MCU initially found it's niche and then grew mainstream, this Show and it's style of content will also find a good niche to enjoy the perfect blend of Body Horror/Dark Tone/Imagination/Wit and Comedy that this show pulls off so effortlessly. I am eagerly looking forward to watching the Second season.

Larry gives an unbelievable performance, charged with emotion using nothing but his voice, and that Rita actress was probably born to be a star, though perhaps she is too "classically beautiful" to get a chance from Hollywood. Things drag at times but the choice to make Tudyk the show carrier is guaranteed to keep me hooked on this show for good. Expand

And now I think this is my favourite TV show of all time. The continuous fourth wall breaking is interesting BECAUSE of being overdone, the fact that the story doesn't progress at all in the first 13 episodes is hilarious, the characters are given depth and we can understand it very well why they cannot get over their past and learn to live in the present because of their depression and arrogance.

The series is refreshingly self-aware, both in the hilarious meta narration by Alan Tudyk as the team’s archenemy Mr. Nobody. ... And in its more fundamental understanding that if you make a show about these characters, you’d best come weird or not come at all. Its highs aren’t as high, but it’s more consistently satisfying.
  2. The world-building of Doom Patrol--which gleefully trusts its audience as it leads us into a world where superheroes are firmly established--is riotous and engaging without feeling weighed down by the genre’s typical pitfalls.

Doom Patrol’s second episode takes another tour through origin fatigue, sending some characters into hallucinations of their sorrowful past lives. ... The Cyborg subplot takes a detour I legitimately didn’t see coming, and the longer plan for Doom Patrol starts to look quite a bit trickier. The show seems to be trying to recapture the magic Morrison brought to these characters.
