Very quick-witted and fun while also being extremely funny! I was not expecting it to be so great! Think of Dollface as a cross between Scrubs and Family Guy in its delivery with a touch of Mean Girls.

In Dollface on Hulu, Jules (played by 2 Broke Girls' Kat Dennings) is left by her boyfriend of five years and tries to reconnect with the friends she lost contact with. Not my target demographic, but I liked Dennings and actress Esther Povitsky and was curious about the dream sequence/magical realism segments (the show was never clear about which they were). I had a good time with this and went through the season's ten episodes pretty quickly.

The show's biggest strength is that it is just pretty funny throughout with snappy dialogue. I you liked Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, this is a pretty good thing to fill its absence with.

The main cast of the four friends is pretty good. I especially liked Madison (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody's Brenda Song), the take-hold member of the group, and Povitsky's Izzy, who is basically the actress' supporting character from Crazy-Ex Maya, a stereotypical millennial, but weirder. I'm not complaining as Povitsky is a hoot to watch.

Admittedly, I like this show based more on the laughs than the plot. There are a lot of cliched moments of secrets that result in outlandish cover-ups; I mean a lot. Also, the characters can be real jerks or pretty selfish at points, especially Madison. (When I said she was one of my favorites, I meant in regards to the characters' humorous sides.) I'm not saying this show is perfect, but it brings on the jokes and that is what I want from a comedy.

Love this show! Imaginative and funny. I love the seamless way they incorporate the surrealistic elements.

I really enjoyed the magical realism the show had to give. It was really well done and helped the show move forwards. Never a dull moment with "Dollface"

Pretty terrible series that flattens out all millenial women and makes them into shallow, one dimensional beings. There is absolutely no depth to anything and no comedy to make up for it.

There is a lot of potential for Dollface to find its voice but its REALLY rough around the edges that requires tons of refinement that I don't think the shows writers have it in them to resolve. The cast is enjoyable and its especially nice to see Brenda Song back on television but they are one dimensional and only start to break out of stereotypical molds towards the end. There are also just a TON of questionable story decisions that make you actively root against the main characters. But the show is lighthearted and has funny moments (albeit rare). A second season seems very unlikely but overall, Dollface is enjoyable. Expand

Really just lazy writing and acting all around. Very disappointing. Don’t waste your time.
